Mayor: City in Session Playtest · published
Hello, Mayors!
Update 0.2.3 is here! This update is focused on improving the overall presentation, atmosphere, and usability of the game. While this isn't a major gameplay update, it lays the foundation for a more polished experience as development continues. From a redesigned main menu to new ambient audio, the game should now feel much more alive from the moment you launch it.
One of the biggest additions in this update is the introduction of background music. The soundtrack helps set the tone while you're making difficult decisions for your city, creating a more immersive experience without distracting from gameplay.
In addition to music, I've also added ambient background sounds. These environmental effects help make your city feel more active and alive, adding another layer of immersion while you manage your administration.
A brand-new Options Menu has been added!
This is the first step toward giving players greater control over their experience. You can now adjust audio settings without leaving the game, and this menu will continue to expand with additional settings in future updates.
The game's presentation has received a significant refresh.
The entire main menu has been redesigned with a cleaner layout, improved visuals, and a more professional appearance. The goal was to make the game feel more polished the moment you launch it.
Both the main menu and the in-game interface now feature updated backgrounds, giving the game a more cohesive visual style and improving the overall atmosphere.
Improved the overall look and feel of the user interface.
Enhanced the atmosphere with music and ambient sound.
Continued polishing the game's presentation in preparation for future gameplay updates.
Looking Ahead
This update is primarily about improving the foundation of the game before larger content updates arrive. I'm continuing to work on expanding gameplay systems, adding new events, increasing replayability, and making Mayor: City in Session a deeper political city management experience.
See you in the next council meeting!
