The Anomaly
This update took a while and contains a lot of juice to make it worthwhile. Not only did it get some much needed quality of life improvements, but a brand new environment as well.
This environment can only be unlocked after defeating the boss. Once you have defeated the boss you might want to revisit the first 3 stages in order to find traces of odd objects that don't belong there. Make sure to click on them once you spot them!
As usual there will be 3 sections through which the changes will be addressed.
Added
The focus of this update was the new environment; The Anomaly. This environment is hardlocked behind progress, so you won't even get to see it unless you have beaten the boss. That being said, those that have got the skill and patience will be rewarded with plenty!
- Cube WASD movement controls
- The Anomaly (new environment)
- Anomaly puzzle 1
- Anomaly puzzle 2 (new mechanic)
- Anomaly puzzle 3 (new mechanic, boss tier puzzle)
- Subtle environmental Anomaly unlocks (only appears after defeating the boss at least once)
- 2 brand new achievements
- Steam leader boards dedicated to the new environment
- Steam stats for the new environment
- All puzzles now show their individual names during the selection stage
Updated
From the community there were quite a few requests for improvements on mainly the Cube. Please do keep the feedback coming. The puzzles are all designed for you to enjoy. Crucial feedback will be implemented (some sooner than others).
- Cube readability by removing wireframe and changing the numeric color states. The numbers adjacent to the tile you are hovering over change in color so that you can understand more easily which number is connected to which tiles
- Improved dialogues
- Quicker response time when resetting puzzles (especially larger ones)
- Cube starting tile is a lot more prominent
- The store page has been revamped as well
Fixed
In order to prepare the game for the next update (||settings||) a lot of fixes had to take place and at the same time some new bugs were discovered due to this.
- RTX performance improvements should produce less artefacts with a slightly higher frame rate (applied to levels Arctic, Asia, Islands, Desert, Menu, and Tutorial, other levels had no issues)
- Bug where screen rarely turns black for a couple of frames during cutscenes
- Bug where you can accidently place 2 flags at once
- Bug where tiles in extremely rare and specific circumstances do not detect a flag (nearby or on top, eg. marking bombs)
- Bug where difficulties were not calculated properly
- Small code refactor that destroyed a few bugs
- All DLC locked icons link to DLC now
- Outlines for all texts are more snappy now
With all that being said, make sure to enjoy the good new content!
