🚀 Steam Next Fest – Final Update is Live!

major update

I Know a Guy: Shady Life Simulator · published

Before anything else, here’s the biggest change:

🧭 Demo Now Has a Mission System

The demo now includes a structured mission system.
You can track and complete objectives directly from the left side of your screen.

And yes, after finishing the demo’s story, you can now continue playing the pizza shop and open world freely — without the shady side active.

This was one of the most requested features. We heard you. It’s in.

First of all, thank you.

Now, here’s the full breakdown of the Next Fest Special Update:

🛠 Gameplay & System Changes

  • Music instruments, beer mug, and dart interaction guides added.

  • Relay service optimized.

  • CSV-related NPC issues fixed for French, Italian, and Polish.

  • Order screen UI updated.

  • Tutorial: “Serve 5 Customers” now spawns only 5 NPCs. No 2-minute timer for them. Spawn system remains locked until tutorial ends.

  • Open-world NPCs cannot give quests on the same day. Interaction shows “Come back tomorrow.”

  • Removed per-button reset options from keybinding screen.

  • Incinerator preview no longer appears burning in build mode.

  • Normal customer NPCs now queue sequentially (1 to 10) instead of repeating randomly.

  • Flashlight object added to the game.

  • Bed prompt changed to “Sleep to Save.”

  • Shady NPCs hard-limited to max 3 per day, spawning between:

    • 11:00–14:00

    • 16:00–19:00

    • 21:00–00:00

  • At midnight, waiting customers are cleared.

  • Endgame screen now says “Continue if you want” and clears police/planks properly in the morning.

  • Orders UI now includes a fixed Side Quests section.

  • “Shady Orders” renamed to “Shady Favors.”

  • Dark web payment screen added with silhouette-style static chat interface. Player debt set to $1M.

  • After tutorial, customers can order 1–3 pizzas, and must receive correct types. Dynamic prompts like (0/3). Correct payments scale properly.

  • Level system removed. Pizza unlocks moved to Upgrade tab.

  • Basketball interaction now says “[G] Shoot” instead of Drop.

  • Incorrect pizza types are no longer accepted.

  • Shady business tracker corrected to 0/6.

⚙️ Performance & Build

  • Render Scale option added (FSR powered).

    • Default 0.7 for <14GB VRAM

    • Default 1.0 for higher VRAM

  • Lower-end systems can reduce scale for significant performance gain.

  • Build size increased from 2GB → 6GB due to compression changes.

    • Updates are now significantly smaller.

    • Players download only changed content instead of full game.

🧠 Economy & Balance Adjustments

  • $10,000 debt adjusted (previous amount unreachable with current content).

  • Second-day first shady NPC (Mr. Ledger) adjusted (post-6PM appearance).

This is the most stable and feature-complete version of the demo so far.
