We hope everyone had a relaxing holiday weekend!
We're coming in strong with improved feedback during the Mage Duel Arena mechanic, along with updates to overworld navigation that should reduce some of the friction involved in finding targets throughout the world.
Mage Duel Arena & Overworld Update
This update improves translation feedback, duel navigation, audio support, and movement across the overworld.
Mage Duel Arena
- Added the ability to skip a turn when you cannot translate the given sentence. Skipping still consumes your turn, so it is less of a trick and more of a consequence.
- Updated the Duel Summary panel to show the expected translation alongside your answer. Your performance will now be judged with considerably less mystery.
- Added individual feedback for failed and skipped translations.
- Fixed the navigation buttons on the Mage Duel summary panel. We eventually agreed that a single Return button was not a complete navigation strategy.
- Added support for audio-based duel content. Some sentences can now be heard while displayed. Reading is still important, but the game can now speak for itself.
Overworld
- Added Autowalk, allowing you to automatically travel to your next destination after a conversation. The old two-foot express just received an upgrade.
- A new post-conversation menu lets you select the next person you want to find and begin navigating automatically. Social efficiency has been given a button.
Added the option to close the Autowalk menu and continue using manual WASD movement. Independence remains available.Autowalk can now be cancelled at any time by pressing WASD. Free will can be reasserted instantly. The camera is now unlocked during Autowalk, allowing you to look around while moving. Sightseeing no longer requires standing perfectly still.
