The goal of this update was mainly to just make the beginning of act 1 ramp up in difficulty slower. This allows for less punishment on new players and those trying to learn a new game. It also gets rid of extremely punishing random rolls that could happen early on. This should allow players to make a reasonable amount of choices before hitting the same difficulty as before. The overall game was not made easier, but floors 1-6 were made to ease players in more and 7-10 were made very slightly easier so you can't get an absolutely horrendous roll, just to make it more consistent with where the average difficulty should've already been. The rest of the game is untouched as strategy and difficulty is intended, but it wasn't fun when you would die before getting to make any choices to prevent yourself from dying. The opening floors of act 1 now ease in more gently. Floors 1 and 2 have fixed starting enemies and floors 3 and 4 add enemy buildings more slowly.
Gristle Reavers now first appear on floor 6 with at most one Reaver Den until floor 10.
Only one Bloat Hive can appear per fight until floor 7.
Early fights always include a Crawler Hive. You won’t face a full Husk lineup on floors 3 to 6 (husks are slightly more powerful on a per spawn ratio)
The end of act 1 is as hard as before
Hollow Choir now starts fights with 200 supply to have the same as the other races.
Enemy spawner HP now rises by act.
New default volumes: music 70% and sound effects 90%
Fixed a rare error when a fight ended just after casting plague wave or virulence.
Sappers charge and seedstorm now count all their damage on the post fight stats page.
Late update to the update added new act 1 fight music. Similar to the old one but we removed the organ because it was too noisy and cleaned the song up.
