August 21 - Rent Risk & Property Management Update

Family Office Simulator · published

Today's Family Office Simulator update improves how occupied-rent changes account for recent rent history and makes the risk shown to players more consistent with the actual economic burden on a tenant.

### Occupied Rent Risk

* Recent rent increases are now evaluated cumulatively over a rolling 12-month period.
* Repeated small increases can no longer avoid move-out risk simply by staying below the risk threshold one increase at a time.
* The game now accounts for the tenant's provable recent signed-rent history when evaluating a new proposal.
* The move-out risk shown in the preview is the same risk preserved through the pending proposal, save/reload, and eventual effective rent change.
* Existing saves are supported. Older tenants begin tracking this history prospectively rather than being assigned invented historical rent changes.

### Rent Reductions

* Reducing a tenant's rent does not create cumulative move-out risk.
* Prior rent history is still preserved so lowering rent cannot erase earlier increases before a later increase.
* Rent-reduction previews now show the signed dollar change correctly.

### Property Management Clarity

* Rent-change previews now provide clearer context when recent increases are contributing to move-out risk.
* Improved spacing and presentation around rent-risk warnings and actions.

No new game is required.

Thank you to everyone continuing to send detailed reports during Early Access. Player feedback directly helped identify and validate the cumulative rent-risk issue corrected in this update.
