CLOUD DWELLERS · published · build 24814194
In Clouddwellers, we have always wanted players to build a sky home that truly belongs to them, with their own hands.
But until today, your base has always had to compromise with the world.Wherever the resources were, that was where you had to build.
Wherever the minerals were, you had to send people there to collect them.
When liquids and gases needed to be transported, you could only rely on survivors to carry them bit by bit.
This time, we want to change that.
With the addition of the new Resource Capsule, Miner, and Pipeline System, the world of Remnants of the Sky is finally making way for your plans.
Resource points should not forever dictate what your base looks like. Now, you can use Resource Capsules to collect wild resource points and place them wherever you need.Perhaps you want to centralize your entire production area.
Perhaps you have found a place perfect for building a large home, but there are not enough resources nearby.
Or maybe you just want your base to look neater. Now, you can plan your base first, and then decide where resources should go.
As the base continues to expand, repetitive collection becomes an increasingly burdensome part of survivors' daily work. The addition of the Miner is designed to change that.Hand over the mining work to machines, freeing your survivors from endlessly repetitive collection tasks. They can then dedicate themselves to production, construction, exploration, and other work that truly drives the base's growth.A constantly expanding home should not mean more and more repetitive labor.
As the base becomes more complex, having production facilities alone is not enough.Resources need to be transported, and facilities need to be connected. So we have introduced a brand-new pipeline system.Liquids and gases can now be transported through pipelines within the base. You can begin to plan your own transport network, creating a more complete production chain among different facilities. From individual buildings to an interconnected production system—Your base is evolving from a "collection of buildings" into a truly functioning home. The world begins to obey your plans. You can build a compact industrial base, or plan production, residential, and decorative areas as completely different zones. You can bring resources home, leave collection to machines, and use pipelines to connect the entire production system. You can lay it out according to your ideas, expand it according to your plans, and change it continuously with every choice you make.
Besides the new base-building methods, we have also made several optimizations to the gameplay experience.
We have improved the font display in the game and fixed display anomalies in some language environments. We hope that no matter which language you use, you can read and understand the in-game information more easily.
We have rebalanced the way resources are obtained in the early game. Now, you can get sand from the wall behind the initial dirt pile.We hope that when players first set foot in this sky, they can complete early construction more smoothly, without needing to explore too early just to find sand.
If you have already established your sky home in clouddwellers, you don't need to worry about this update. You can directly load your old save and experience all the new changes brought by this update.
