Red Bread Redemption

major update

Animal Bakery · published

Hello everyone! It's been a while since the last playtest.

During this time, I resigned from my job! I used to work part-time to support myself while developing the game, but it was just too exhausting. Now, I’ve quit and am working on the game full-time from home.Developing a game I truly love is so... DAMN... FUN!I start working in the morning, and before I know it, it’s already time to sleep...So, what have I been working on these past few days?

I’ve heard your feedback!Shortcuts (Press spacebar to quickly skip time)
Bug fixes (WASD keys not working, donut display errors, tutorial errors, etc.)
Couldn’t find the third character (Better hints, the pawn shop door now has a shiny coat of paint)
Couldn’t figure out why the "Start Next Day" button disappeared (Clearer hints now)There are also many frequently suggested optimizations that are now on the to-do list:

  • A temporary shelf for moving bread around or prepping bread before placing it on display

  • Priority system issues: Even after adjusting priorities, the two characters still do their own thing

And many other small issues—I won’t list them all, but I’ll fix them, I promise!A big thank you to the players who repeatedly played the game and helped me find bugs!

Three new shops have been added! Those who played the demo have already chatted with the NPCs in the subway, but each of them actually has their own functions. For example, the convenience store and the pawn shop both allow you to sell items. Some special items (needed for quests or for certain unique customers) or food and drinks... I’ve moved the previously free items into these shops, adding a small task for everyone: obtain these quest items yourselves instead of getting them for free!Additionally, Jeff’s shop now offers small tasks (though there aren’t many available early on) to earn little rewards (which can be used at the old man’s shop).

Mail/Letter SystemYou can now send and receive letters! You’ll receive all kinds of letters and clues, which will be stored in your backpack. For example, you’ll need to obtain various upgrade permits to level up your bread and increase its price. You might also come across clues you’ve heard about, helping you advance the storyline, obtain new items, or unlock new recipes!

I personally think it should be pretty fun! But since new features often come with bugs, please bear with me!
