Update #47: Cook, Craft, Defend!

Hello, adventurers!

Well... this one got pretty big!

What started as another content update somehow turned into new systems, new structures, new upgrades, new things to cook, craft and discover... and a banner problem.

We genuinely didn't know what to put on it. As you can see, Tru took it well :)

So, let's see what caused all the trouble.

Let's start with a new set of turret upgrades.

Each guild's technology tree now includes a new turret upgrade, giving you five different upgrades in total. You can mix and match them across the three available upgrade slots and tune your defenses the way you want.

Once you've crafted an upgrade, you can install it through the Build menu under the Add-ons category, or directly from the turret management window while standing near a turret.

Each turret has three upgrade slots. And yes, you can stack upgrades and fill all three with the same one if you craft three copies. Sometimes subtlety is overrated :)

We'd love to hear what you think about the new upgrades, especially when it comes to balance and different combinations.

And don't worry if a turret gets destroyed. Clear the rubble and you'll get all installed upgrades back!

We've also added the Kitchen, together with new add-ons, recipes and ingredients.

Assign a cook, improve your meals, and keep an eye out for new ingredients while exploring the islands. There are already new things to cook, brew and dry, and more recipes will appear in future updates :)

• Added an option to manage and install turret upgrades.

💖Quality of Life & Balance:

• When holding Ctrl while building, structures placed while simultaneously removing an obstacle will now stay locked in place until construction is complete. Previously, they could still be moved around the grid, making it easy to accidentally place them somewhere you didn't intend to.
• The last loaded save will now be highlighted in blue.
• Added visual effects for the Balloon Turret when firing.
• Added visual effects for the Crossbow Turret when firing.
• Added visual effects for the Mortar Turret when firing.
• Reduced the number of items needed to craft Taint Cleaning Extract.
• Changed technology upgrade costs in the Mech's Builder and Shipmakers' Guilds.
• Rearranged some technologies in the tech tree to improve gameplay flow.

🐛Bugfixes:

• Fixed some cases where you couldn't enter or exit the airship in co-op.
• Fixed cases where the Tainted Storm was too dark, making it difficult to see.

And one more thing...

Achievements are coming. :)

Here's a tiny preview. We've prepared quite a few more, obviously, but showing them all before you can actually unlock them would be cheating.
