Build 26416389

Your first ten minutes, rebuilt

Steam's playtime numbers told us something we didn't like: too many people stopped playing in the first ten minutes. The good part of SYSADMIN Hell starts when your first automation does the work for you, and it was taking too long to get there. So 1.0.6 is about getting you there faster.

• You start in the queue. A new career now opens on the ticket queue with the most urgent ticket already open, instead of on a welcome email. The email is still in your Inbox, unread, for whenever you want it.
• Your first career goes straight into Orientation. No contract to sign before you know what the job is. Difficulty and the optional contract clauses are there from your second career on. Orientation can still be skipped at any point.
• Your first automation, the moment you can afford it. Stapley used to wait his turn behind other advice. Now he tells you as soon as it's in budget, and where to find it: press F4.

Translation fixes

A few lines were still appearing in English when playing in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese or Russian. These now show in your language:

• The predecessor's note on day one's quick fixes
• "Tomorrow" on the end-of-day summary, and the chart legend above it
• The day's event in the taskbar, and the email that announces it
• The About menu and window, and staff specialities

Spotted another one? Post it in the discussions with a screenshot and it'll go in the next update.

One small ask

From day two, the end-of-day summary has a quiet line asking for a Steam review, with a button that opens the review page. Press either button and it never shows again. This is a one-person studio, and reviews are how Steam decides who gets to see the game, so every one really does help.

Thanks for playing, and thanks to everyone who's already left a review.

Clock in. You're already behind.
