Mostly fixes, and most of them came from watching your runs.
Creatures can no longer hit what they haven't noticed
- A creature used to swing at anyone who came within reach, even someone standing perfectly still in the dark. Now it has to have heard you — your own voice, step or breathing reached it a moment ago — and see you in the light of a wave.
- Standing still or sneaking: it walks past. Walking or whispering: it hears you and comes to look, but doesn't strike. Talking, running or panting: it strikes.
- The Windup is deaf to whispers and to crouched footsteps entirely.
The lift no longer rings a dinner bell
When you stepped out of the lift, the arrival itself made a loud noise that the whole floor could hear — which is why a crew that got out and crept in silence still had three creatures on them within half a minute. The arrival still lights up the room; nothing hears it any more.
Carrying and throwing bodies
- Throw a downed teammate and they now get up where you threw them, not back where they went down. Fixed for host and clients alike.
- A downed player's camera no longer lurches across the room and crawls back.
- Dropping and placing things is fixed for clients too: loot settles where you saw it in your hands, instead of snapping back to a lagging position and sliding into the floor.
Other fixes
- Bear traps are reusable — pick one back up with use, sprung or not, and set it somewhere better. Taking an armed one makes a noise, so mind where you do it.
- Big creatures stay pinned in a trap twice as long, and limp harder afterwards. No more escaping by jumping.
- Data was almost never spawning — on two out of three test floors there were no finds at all. Fixed.
- New campaigns no longer start with research already unlocked from a previous one.
- Loot carts no longer get stuck on the metro rails.
- Shift orders don't repeat: a job type won't come up again until the others have had their turn.
- A diver's voice now sounds like it's coming from underwater — muffled, bubbling and impossible to make out.
- The first time your voice cracks a crystal or disturbs an egg, a one-time card explains that some finds react to sound.
- Push-to-talk is available in the audio settings (off by default, CapsLock). It silences your waves too — you still can't talk without being seen.
