We Should Run Playtest · public · first seen
This update leans the run harder into roguelike territory, with real choices on the way down and a new hazard guarding the stairs.
NEW — Choose Your Descent
At every stairwell you now pick your route down. Each option previews the affliction that floor will carry and what waits there: a supply cache, a shrine, dead-quiet "still air," or a plain open descent. Weigh a harsher floor with a reward against a safer one with nothing. In online co-op, the host makes the call while everyone sees the previews.
NEW — Sacrifice Shrines
Take the shrine route and you'll find an altar willing to bargain. Offer a permanent slice of your sanity ceiling for a boon: extra skill points, a stash of supplies, or a full heal-and-steady. The deeper you're willing to cut into your own mind, the stronger you walk away. Each player strikes their own bargain.
NEW FLOOR MODIFIER — The Gale
Two industrial fans roar to life in the stairwell room, blasting a wind that shoves you back from the exit. You can't just stroll to the stairs — sprint into it, or dash straight through the gust. Watch for it on the descent preview.
POLISH
- Redesigned the descent and shrine screens for cleaner, at-a-glance reads.
- Stairwells now sit square to the room instead of at an odd angle.
- Assorted fixes and tuning.
