Update 0.12 - New Boss and NG+

On Steam

A hunt with a deadline

Day 1 opens with a WANTED briefing naming the criminal you're after. You have 50 days to put them down. Miss the deadline and the run ends — the city gets to keep its monster. The boss doesn't just show up either. You build leads: every fight won is one, Arena victories are worth 3, finished contracts are worth 5. Gather enough and the target surfaces. In the final 5 days they surface regardless — ready or not.

Four criminals, not one

  • King Cat — volleys of homing bullets once cornered

  • Tyrant Rex — ground slams that hit your whole party and leave it reeling

  • The Croakfather — heals itself every second. Outdamage it or lose

  • Emperor Pengu — freezes your party's charge speed solid

Each one has its own sprites, its own dialogue, and its own second-phase mechanic. You meet them in order until every one is beaten — then it's whoever's left standing.

Every ending is now a collectable

Recruit them. Spare them. Kill them. Jail them. Or take the deal only that boss can offer — Rex's protection money, the Croakfather's toxin trade, Pengu's salvage rights.Endings used to overwrite each other. Now every one you've ever taken is recorded on the record wall in The Grid: yours in gold, the ones you haven't found still reading ???. Each ending pays a permanent reward that follows you into every future run.

New Game+ — the career continues

Beating your target no longer wipes the slot. It loops. You keep: the day counter, your fame, your hero level, the skill tree, abilities, companions, artifacts, contracts and every share of stock you own.
You lose: only the hunt itself. New name on the poster, clean slate on the leads. The city fights back harder every cycle: enemies at +100% per loop, bosses another +100% on top, the Arena a brutal +200%. There are 24 new encounters that only appear in New Game+, across two escalating sets.

No more ceilings

  • Hero levels never cap. Past the authored ladder each level costs 50% more fame than the last and pays a permanent +10% to damage, speed and health.

  • The skill tree extends into every New Game+ cycle, priced off the economy of that cycle.

  • Abilities and companions are uncapped — extra levels now actually pay out instead of quietly charging you for nothing.

Artifacts that do something

Around 45 artifacts were rebuilt from scratch, each with one clear effect instead of a pile of numbers. And most of them now speak during the swing, not between fights: extra damage with your back to the wall, kills that stack power, splash on the killing blow, burn, executions on a crit, a nova when you're revived, more damage when you're outnamed and outnumbered.Common through Rare stack with every copy you own. Epic and Legendary are unique. Drop chance is capped at 50%, however hard you stack it.

Prestige items are mechanics now

The cheap tier no longer hands you a flat stat and calls it a day. Free moves, fear cleansed by resting, healing on a win, a free first encounter, a chance at doubled loot, daily income that grows with the run. Prestige also pays out faster: a token every 5 days instead of 10, and 8 for putting the target down.

Balance & fixes

  • Late-game damage keeps pace. Health scaled faster than damage ever could — the damage curve now ramps past 50 DMG so the last stretch of a run is a fight instead of a wall.

  • Fixed: the encounter board barely changed. A weighting bug meant normal days kept drawing the same encounter, and once the boss unlocked it won every slot on the board. Both fixed — the board is actually varied now.

  • New stat panel. Hover the inspect icon to see every stat your hero carries, base combat stats included.

  • Finished careers are kept as records instead of vanishing from the slot list.

  • Late enemy and boss tuning pass, and resting is capped at 60% of your health.

Localization

205 new lines of text, translated into all 14 supported languages. The main menu is fully localized now too.

Thanks for playing, and for the reports — the deadline, the leads, the ending collection and the New Game+ loop all came straight out of your feedback. Keep it coming.
