The dawn has settled over the town of Elderfield, and you feel a calling towards the farm, the mines, the mall β€” the whole town of Elderfield is pulling you into a false sense of security. Spend your days in content paranoia as your productivity levels up, it’s time to play the full release of Welcome to Elderfield.

Get your copy of Welcome to Elderfield on Steam, with a launch discount of 10%! Don’t miss out on the great bundles on offer too…

Every day is different in Elderfield β€” manage your quaint farm, befriend or romance the edgy locals, investigate seemingly harmless mysteries, decorate your home, fight terrifying creatures, fish, cook, seek the Old Gods, die in your sleep, and way more is in store.

Of course, some things in your routine may stay the same: watching the TV broadcast with a hot beverage in the morning, having a rejuvenating (no literally) shower before tucking yourself into bed, mining without any safety gear, running away from shoppers in the mall, creeping around the sewers β€” ahh, let the good times roll.

You can choose your difficulty β€” how neat!

For players seeking a peaceful life of harvest and discovery, cozy difficulty offers a more laid-back experience. For those who crave a challenge, there are multiple options:

πŸ¦‘ Easy, Normal & Hard, where enemy stats rise as well as potential death penalties.

πŸ’€ Nightmare mode, recommended for those who don’t enjoy fun.

✏️ Custom – pick your stats from a series of prompts (warning: this mode cannot be changed later)

Elderfield features a deep, turn-based combat system where you must utilize gathered resources, strategic buffs and diverse equipment to survive encounters with ancient, Lovecraftian horrors. Die, learn, farm, and forage… Then die again. The horrors persist! But so will YOU.

Thank you to everyone who entered our giveaway β€” the winners have been picked and contacted. Once confirmed, they will be receiving their prizes and game keys – check your email inboxes!

And now, a word from the developer (supreme leader) Chris Cote:

It’s finally happening, folks!

After 3 years of development, Welcome to Elderfield is finally releasing into 1.0.0.

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported the game’s development through all these years, from the first Ill-Advised Records fans that followed me over to this unexpected project (the music will return, I promise!), to the Patreon supporters who have helped find countless bugs throughout development, and the countless people who have been following the game’s development and helping spread the word about this strange little game.

This all started out as a random side project to mess around with in my free time, and I never expected an RPG Maker game by someone who doesn’t even know how to code would turn into something with hundreds of thousands of wishlists and a publisher on board, but here we are, somehow!

Making this game has been a blast from day one. This is a love letter to so many genres and media influences that have come together to shape who I am, and I am thrilled to see that so many other people seem to be cut from a similar cloth. I didn’t set out to make a game for anyone other than myself and a small group of fans that liked my weird art and music, so to have reached beyond that small circle has been a very pleasant surprise.

This 1.0.0 release is just the beginning, and I plan to work on new updates for the game to release for free in the future. Despite all the work that has gone into the game so far, I still have many ideas for the game (as well as cut content that I still hope to add in), and I am excited to continue development to make the game the best that it can be.

If you find any bugs or have any feedback about the game, please feel free to make a post on the Steam Community page, or by joining our Discord and making a post in the WTE Forums there. I am sure there will be plenty of bugs to fix and issues to get ahead of once the floodgates open, so please bear with me while I work to get things as stable as possible in the chaos of release.

Thank you all once again, and I’ll see you in Elderfield!

Chris (Dated)
