Crypt Survivor Demo · build 25223735 · published
Hey everyone!
I hope you're enjoying the demo!
We've officially passed 1,000 downloads! WOW!
That might not seem like a huge number to some people, but to me, that's incredible. I've received a lot of positive feedback so far, along with reports of bugs and other issues.
So today, I'm here to fix some of those problems and make a few gameplay changes!
There was still some text left over from the alpha build that hadn't been updated. That has now been fixed.
Mage
Elemental Mage has been changed to Subclass.
Fire has been changed to Solar.
Lightning has been changed to Arc.
Void and Plague remain unchanged.
Upgrades
Updated the descriptions for several upgrades.
Bosses
Updated boss-related text that was still using wording from the alpha build.
Increased the damage of the Venomancer and The Black Knight.
Increased the number of enemies that can appear in rooms.
Floor 1: Increased from 6 to 10, with a maximum of 15.
Floor 2: Increased from 10 to 15, with a maximum of 25.
This might not seem like a massive increase at first, but enemy counts also scale with a multiplier based on how many rooms you've cleared.
The goal is for rooms to gradually become more crowded as your run progresses without making them feel too cramped or overwhelming.
The endgame will work a little differently, but I'll save that for another time.
Updated shop prices to make them feel more reasonable.
Added support for DualShock controllers and additional third-party controllers.
I've also been hard at work on some larger features for the full game.
I don't want to spoil everything just yet, but here's a small peek behind the curtain.
Once you complete a full run through all 5 floors, new game modes will unlock that will put your builds to the test.
Completing that challenge will unlock another game mode designed to test your skill and knowledge of the game.
The main menu will also feature a new Shop where you'll be able to unlock new classes, skills, items, and other goodies to help with future runs.
Gold earned during a successful run will be transferred into your Virtual wallet and can be spent in the Shop.
You'll also keep some of the gold collected during failed runs, although a percentage will be deducted before it is transferred.
These are just a few of the systems I'm working on that will hopefully keep you returning to the Crypt, experimenting with different classes, and creating new builds.
That's all from me for now!
I'll continue watching the Steam forums, reading your comments, and doing my best to respond to feedback and bug reports.
Until then, I hope you keep enjoying the demo.
I'll see you in the Crypt.
