FlatVR 1.65 is now the main branch - 1.67 on Develop

On Steam

The 1.65 build that has been on the Develop branch since last week - the optimisation update: HAGS on the Status tab, the depth model in pieces paced to your frames, presets that watch the frames, the Cinema Mode fix - is now the main branch for everyone. Nothing to do; Steam updates it.Develop moves on to 1.67, with two fixes we would like tested:

  • Real depth from Direct3D 12 games works again. In games like Cyberpunk 2077 the depth was arriving as flat blocky rectangles, and on some machines it could reset the graphics driver. Both are fixed in the depth add-on, now 2.13: the depth buffer is copied correctly, from the right source, and the shared texture is never torn down while the game is still using it. The add-on is a file in the game folder, so run the Setup Helper on the ReShade tab once more for the game; ReShade's Add-ons tab should then show 2.13.

  • OpenTrack head tracking fixed. The head pose was being sent with the axes crossed: a nod arrived in the channel OpenTrack calls roll, a tilt in pitch, and the Invert checkboxes then seemed to act on the wrong axis (thanks to the X-Plane report). There is also a new Axis Mapping on the OpenTrack panel for games or trackers that read the channels in another order.

If you play a Direct3D 12 game with ReShade depth, or fly with OpenTrack, this is the build we need feedback on: the game, and whether it looks right. If anything breaks, a crash report or a message here is all it takes. How to switch: right-click FlatVR in your Steam library → Properties → Betasdevelop. To go back, pick last-stable. Your settings are kept either way.
