Seize Control 2.9.2 focuses on a snappier app, a full keyboard shortcut set, and a round of File Explorer additions: copy filename and UNC path, run as administrator, a terminal picker, shortcuts and links, a proper archive dialog, regex batch rename, templates, and Recent files.

Performance:

- Window dragging and general responsiveness now stay smooth, including right after showing the window again from the tray. Settings are kept in memory and saved in the background instead of being re-read from disk on every access, and the session file no longer grows without bound.

- Showing the window from the tray is now immediate and no longer waits for Steam to reconnect. A minimized window now restores from the tray instead of only flashing on the taskbar, and every hidden window comes back together.

- App Themes now render lighter: file rows no longer each carry their own blur layer, theme styles are cached between reveals, and Reduce visual effects also stops the theme's background video.

- Thumbnails and icons now load in bounded batches, hidden windows no longer generate thumbnails, and 3D model and EPUB previews load their decoders on demand, so startup is faster.

- Large folders are cheaper to work in: sorting by date, folder size display, scroll position memory, and marquee selection do less work, and the audio visualizer idles while paused.

- Lower background CPU while idle from the window, fullscreen, and audio monitors.

Keyboard shortcuts:

- Added a full explorer shortcut set: Ctrl+I inverts the selection and Esc clears it, Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y undo and redo, Ctrl+Enter opens in a new tab, Shift+Delete deletes permanently, Alt+Enter opens Properties, Ctrl+Shift+E reveals in Explorer, Ctrl+D pins the folder, and Ctrl+Alt+T opens a terminal.

- Added navigation keys: Alt+Left or Backspace goes back, Alt+Right forward, Alt+Up to the parent folder, and Ctrl+L, Alt+D, or F4 edits the path.

- Added view keys: Ctrl+H toggles hidden items, Ctrl+P the details pane, Page Up and Page Down move by a page, Shift+F10 or the Menu key opens the context menu, and Ctrl+scroll wheel resizes grid tiles.

- Added workspace keys: Ctrl+Shift+T reopens the last closed tab, Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+9 jump to a tab, Ctrl+N opens a new window, F11 toggles fullscreen, and Ctrl+, opens Settings.

- Right-click menus now show the shortcut next to each action.

Navigation and selection:

- Added a Typing in the file list setting: filter the list as you type, or jump to the first match like Windows Explorer.

- A new folder or renamed item is now selected and scrolled into view, and a deleted item hands selection to its neighbour.

- Dialogs now close with Esc, keep focus inside, and return focus where it was. Dropdowns, the folder tree, tabs, breadcrumbs, and the path bar are now fully keyboard operable, and keyboard focus is always visible.

- Delete confirmation now offers Don't ask again for Recycle Bin deletes, and permanent deletes get their own confirmation.

- The status bar now shows the total size of the selection.

Right-click menu:

- Added Copy Filename and Copy as UNC Path. UNC copies the network path for mapped drives.

- Added Run as administrator for executables.

- Open Terminal Here now lets you pick Command Prompt, PowerShell, or Windows Terminal, with a Default terminal setting. Ask each time shows all of them.

- Added Create Shortcut and Create Link (folder junctions and file links). Alt-drag now creates a shortcut, alongside Ctrl for copy and Shift for move.

- Added New from Template: drop files into the templates folder and they appear under New.

File Explorer:

- Create Archive now opens a dialog: name, ZIP or 7z, compression level, optional password (AES-256), hide file names for 7z, and split volumes.

- Batch rename now supports regular expressions with capture groups.

- Added Recent files to the sidebar, with a setting to show or hide it.

- Added a setting to show or hide the Rich View switch in the toolbar.

Appearance:

- Added Transparent window (App Themes DLC): the window becomes see-through so applied themes show your desktop through their panels. It is also available next to dark, system, and light in the App Themes panel.

Developer mode:

- Advanced now has a Developer mode toggle instead of an Open DevTools button. Ctrl+Shift+I and F12 open DevTools and Ctrl+Shift+R reloads the window only while it is on. The hidden default application menu and its stray shortcuts are gone.
