09/06 - Patch notes - build .755

On Steam

Updates 0.753–0.755: Guns, Ascendant Pinnacles, and Equipment Upgrades
Four new endgame encounters, a new weapon class, more ways to improve your favorite equipment, and important improvements to saving and Pinnacle fights.
Four New Ascendant Pinnacles
- Challenge four new Pinnacles at main-character level 150: The Court Without Appeal, The Unclaimed Household, The Certain Horizon, and The Mercy That Will Not Release.
- Each encounter has its own expedition-themed arena, introduction, combat phases, reinforcements, rewards, and new lore.
- Each new Pinnacle offers one free first attempt. Your first victory against each guarantees a Legendary reward.
- Expedition Guardians now guarantee a standard Pinnacle Key, with an additional 30% chance to drop an Ascendant Pinnacle Key.
- Receive four Ascendant Pinnacle Keys through Mail at level 150. Existing characters already above that level receive the reward too, provided it has not already been granted.
- Replaced all eight Pinnacle Portal-card illustrations with new artwork matching the bosses you actually fight.
Guns Have Arrived
- Added Pistols, Blaster Rifles, and Energy Magazines, with 24 expedition-specific equipment pieces and matching crafting recipes.
- Gun equipment begins dropping at level 26. Guns are not sold by the Outfitter.
- Purchase the permanent Gun License for 10,000 aurels in the Barracks to authorize your entire roster, including reserves and future recruits.
- Dual-wielding pistols requires both the Gun License and Paired Hands. Blaster Rifles require a reusable Energy Magazine in the same weapon set.
- Added the Guns proficiency and eight new Masteries. Guns develop alongside Marksmanship.
- Added Sniper’s Mark, which makes a target take more damage and allows qualifying party and summon hits to inflict Bleeding.
- Added Double Tap, which fires two shots in quick succession and alternates hands when dual-wielding pistols.
- Both abilities have learnable Bookseller books. Gun abilities cannot be used in Ability Weaving.
- Guns support crafting, enchantment, disenchantment, and the new equipment-upgrade services.
- Added distinct pistol and rifle sounds, balanced and synchronized with normal attacks and Double Tap.
New Player Town Services
- Added Kylier Evernuun’s Enchanter’s Hut and Nim-Three’s Prep Room, available from main-character level 30 after discovering the associated NPC and establishing the service.
- Enchanter’s Hut: Upgrade an existing enchantment’s tier or reroll its value within its allowed range. Rerolls can improve or lower the value, with the possible range shown before confirming.
- Prep Room: Raise equipment tiers while keeping the item’s identity, or temper individual base properties. Tempering always improves the selected value until it reaches its allowed maximum.
- Successful tier upgrades also teach the corresponding tier for future Workshop crafting.
- Both services accept items from Shared Inventory or Town Stash, cost aurels and materials, and support crafted equipment without stripping away its craftsmanship bonuses.
Pinnacle Fixes
- Restored expedition-style camera framing and following during Pinnacle fights, with smoother movement into and out of the introductory dialogue.
- Fixed a terrain-loading error that could prevent a Pinnacle from opening.
- Opening a Pinnacle now automatically closes an existing ordinary expedition after the entry requirements are satisfied.
- Fixed stale expedition routes sending characters in the wrong direction or triggering unnecessary relocations inside Pinnacle arenas.
- Improved post-victory portal approaches so party members do not all compete for the same position.
- Corrected arena paths, scenery placement, and access to reward chests and return portals, including the Unclaimed Household.
- Preserved the full 30-second post-victory countdown and corrected associated return-to-Town and save/load behavior.
Saving And Recovery
- Routine autosaves now write in the background, reducing interruptions without pausing expedition activity or blocking Menu and Return to Town for the duration of the save.
- Town upgrades, timers, and actions can continue while an autosave is writing. New changes are included in a follow-up save.
- Leaving for the Main Menu or closing the game now waits for your latest progress to be saved.
- If that final save fails, Retry and Cancel let you retry saving or return to the current session.
- Improved recovery-copy selection so an unusable recent copy does not prevent recovery from a valid older one.
- Fixed save-handling issues when closing during campaign loading and when returning to Town while an earlier expedition save is still running.
Other Improvements
- Pinnacle key counters in High Anchorage now display as P.Keys and A.Keys.
- Both types of Pinnacle Key are protected from selling, discarding, and destruction.
- Increased portal activation and deactivation sound volume.
- Moved Options and Main Menu beneath Stash in High Anchorage’s navigation, preventing the separate buttons from overlapping the interface at smaller resolutions.
