Update 19: Salvage Descents and Better Cargo Finds

Void Cargo: Equilibrium · build 25017888 · published

On SteamNotes only · this build shipped before we watched the app

This update adds time-critical salvage descents with unpredictable rewards, makes ordinary bonus cargo easier to find and evaluate, and gives every cargo container a more distinctive presence in the world.

Existing save files remain compatible with this update.

Time-Critical Salvage Descents

  • During active flight, a sealed salvage container can appear, attempt to brake, and crash into the terrain.

  • Its impact is marked on the map, minimap, classic flight instruments, and 3D cockpit. Once it lands, you have two minutes of flight time to recover it before its signal is lost.

  • Contents remain unknown until pickup. A successful recovery can yield credits, fuel, booster charges, or recovered cargo that occupies bay space until it is sold at the next marked base.

  • Fuel and booster rewards that do not fit are converted to credits. If a recovered cargo lot cannot fit in the bay, part of its sale value is credited immediately instead.

Better Bonus-Cargo Hunts

  • Ordinary bonus crates now appear at suitable sites beside established freight routes between permanent bases instead of being scattered arbitrarily across the map.

  • The exact credit value of an ordinary crate is now shown in its detection message, on the surface map, and in both flight-instrument styles before you decide whether to divert.

More Distinctive Cargo Containers

  • Ordinary crates now use four shipping-container variants

  • Special salvage has its own science-fiction container
