the office got rebuilt around you. A shop you walk into
instead of read, a desk that knows what run you are on, and every
window redrawn to be read at a glance.
THE SHOP IS A PLACE NOW. Tiles arrive, prices stamp, floppies eject,
the banner rolls, and a HOT DEAL sign goes up in the window. NEW! wears
a corner flag. The junk software has its own column instead of crowding
the shelf.
SCORING HITS HARDER. Cards flinch and wobble as they pay. The scoring
staircase accelerates as it climbs, each row a step higher in pitch,
and the score readout pulses with it. A big single score jolts the
whole table, harder the hotter your chain is.
THE DESK. YOUR_FILE is a personnel folder that knows what night you are
on and keeps your termination form already signed. PROGRAM FILES is a
shelf of disks, not a list of names. SHIFT_HISTORY files every night on
its own card and has its own icon. The desktop is haunted the way the
fiction always said it was.
THE DRAFT
- Packs come in tiers instead of one shape.
- Skipping a shift shows what you are giving up, so it is a decision
instead of a gamble.
- Each SYSTEM has its own ladder, so booting a second one has a point.
- Locked SYSTEMs show the prize, not just the price.
- Seven editions on the shelf, and the floppy shows which one it is.
READ IT AT A GLANCE
- Nothing in the game is smaller than 15px.
- Fine print reads as ink. The tool rack states the rule.
- The payslip reads in three beats and starts printing while the paper
is still feeding.
- Toasts queue by urgency instead of stacking three deep.
- Text stays sharp at every window size.
- HDR no longer blows out white.
- HELP gains a DESK page and explains marked cards, seals and the car
pool.
THE PAD reaches the whole office. B closes what is on top, the rail
opens from the left, and no window ever drops the controller.
THE JACKPOT slows the room down, and the take plays like a person.
THE ENGINE moves to Godot 4.7.2.
ALSO FIXED
- A shop description that runs long scrolls instead of being cut off,
and stays inside its panel.
- The HOT badge is no longer painted over by the rarity frame.
- A payslip thread shows one slip, however many runs filed it.
- CAFFEINE.EXE can reach its own cap.
- AWARDS shows a badge instead of a bullet.
- RUN IT BACK on a daily replays that daily, not whichever one today
happens to be.
- The daily and the weekly play the same for everyone, whatever the
save says, and a replay cannot farm a board.
- CLOCK OUT is always there.
- My Computer stops filing blank entries.
- The CAR POOL badge no longer sits on top of the card's number.
- The payslip sign-off stops printing over the retained-slips line.
