Step by step, I'm working on making the engine run smoother. In this update, I focused on offloading both the CPU and GPU to eliminate wasted resource overhead.
I combed through the code and stripped out hidden overhead generated by heavy background UI processes that were unnecessarily taxing the hardware even when not actively in use.
What this update changes:
Lighter CPU and GPU: Offloading the processor and graphics card helps maintain a more stable framerate during demanding moments.
No more micro-stutters: Removing constant background UI polling completely eliminates annoying headset stuttering.
Greater stability: Gameplay is smoother, and exploring the complex proceeds without technical disruptions.
Work continues, but now you can head deeper without technical baggage. This isn't the final word on optimization, but it's a solid step forward. Time to check out the results in the underground.
Technical note (one-time)
For the new code structure to work properly, I recommend a clean start with this update: reinstalling the game and clearing local save data from the directory:
C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\RieseProject
