Gameplay Updates:
Passed traffic now physically shrinks down shortly after being passed instead of disappearing abruptly
The initial length of the track has been halved to halve the initial loading time (again)
Acceleration has been capped to 2,000 horsepower
New gameplay settings are available:
Default viewing perspective setting now works as intended
Added a "Speed Units" setting (MPH or km/h)
Added a "Pass Indicator Opacity" setting. This allows the player to fade the text that pops up in the middle of the screen when passing traffic, if desired.
Loss of traction when boosting is now significantly reduced or eliminated (experimental)
Handbrake now acts more like a handbrake instead of a second (but weaker) disc brake. At high enough speeds, it can now initiate drift-like slides (be careful!)
The way that the braking upgrade scales and feels to the player is no longer somewhat dependent on how much they have upgraded handling
Performance Optimizations:
Added a video setting called "Traffic Smoothing Distance", which can greatly increase FPS on lower-end systems (especially CPU-bottlenecked systems):
Performance - Only traffic near to the player updates its location as often as possible. Further traffic updates at a slower rate to greatly save frames, but those cars will not appear to be moving very smoothly
Balanced - Like "Performance", but the distance at which traffic starts updating less frequently is increased
Quality - All traffic, regardless of how far away it is from the player, will update its location and rotation as frequently as possible
In general, traffic should appear to move and rotate a bit smoother than before
Bug Fixes:
Various UI issues in the settings menu have been fixed
Players' profile pictures on the leaderboard will now show as soon as they are loaded instead of potentially requiring the player to refresh the leaderboard
Braking force now shows only 1 decimal place instead of 2, as intended
During upgrade selection:
The speed at which the fracture increases its speed now pauses, as intended.
The sound of the fracture now pauses
Wheels of traffic now stop spinning
