Dokimon Quest Soundtrack · build 24913160 · published
Why hello there! Today, I bring to you all an EXTREMELY fun and interesting update: Trading, and so, so much more
There's A LOT packed into this update ... let's get right into it!
Dokimon Quest: II ― The sequel launches it's Steam Page
First and foremost, Dokimon's sequel has just launched it's Steam page! Please go check out the teaser trailer that just dropped and give it a wishlist if you are interested in the continuation of the main story!
Offline Trading, Battling
This is by far the most exciting thing to go into this update! After reaching Xelos City, the Megacity near your home town, you'll gain access to the "Trading Center" as well as a "Battle Center", in the same building.
These work by allowing you to generate codes, exchange them with your friends, and perform Dokimon trades! You'll also be able to build battle scenes, import your team, create a code, and share those around to battle against your friends teams!
Trading and Battling your friends has been one of the most highly requested features. Unfortunately, as a solo developer, this is not something I could ever possibly hope to achieve, especially not by myself. I would need SIGNIFICANT help (and... fundage). This system only really works since this is a PC game, and this system/feature is unlikely to come to Consoles (due to it basically just being pretty much impossible...)
With that said, this is a perfectly usable trade system, and fun little "Battle System", and this is the best version of these that I can offer with what I have available with my time and resources. I worked super duper hard on this, so I hope everyone can enjoy trading around and sharing codes with their friends and close ones!
The Tutorial Fairy
Another fun addition in this update is the tutorial fairy, found in several locations: Your home, hospitals, inns, onsens. The tutorial fairy gives you deeper insight regarding some of the games systems that, in the past, could be easy to miss if you didn't talk to every NPC, read through every sign, or skipped through some text without reading it.
The tutorial fairy allows you to, at practically any time, review the game's systems, and get a deeper insight into stuff like settings, battles, game features, and even some nifty little tricks that will come in handy!
Additionally, we added a little fairy notification to the bottom of the screen whenever the game is saved~
The Quest Log Rework
The Quest Log has been completely remade from scratch, allowing you to scroll through all current, and past quests, and players will even get a "New Quest!" notification after certain story advancements.
Various Miscellaneous Changes and Additions
Outside of what's already been stated, we also added a plethora of improvements mixed in with some fixes:
Added a Water Fairy sprite when Surfing in the Dokimon DLC
Added an animation and sound fx to the 'Momma Radar'
Added new battle backgrounds: Ice Caves, Underwater, Battle Room
Added a new dialogue portrait sprite to Professor Rena to make her more memorable
Reduced the price of the Blight Crystal (repels monsters) and added to some earlier towns
Added a 'saved' and also an 'autosaved' indicator to the bottom of the screen (fairy sprite)
Fixed 'Flight' occasionally sending you to the wrong town
Fixed 'Flight' town/destination name not updating on controller thumbstick movement
Fixed Flight Master sometimes required multiple chat attempts to award the quest
Added a 'teleport request cutscene' to Flight Master after completing his quest
Fixed several areas that had conflicts with DLC vehicles
Fixed some sprites/areas that had conflicts with the night system/palette
Added some new SFX and added SFX to several locations that didn't have them
Added scroll wrapping to a few menus that got requested to have this added
Added an end-game 'alt-region' nudge notification
Added an updated 'trap-door' sprite to Xelos City to make a hidden area more obvious
Fixed countless grammatical issues in the English script
Fixed several areas where the English script referred to you as a boy regardless of your character
Reworded text in several areas in the English script to improve clarity and understanding
Fixed several layering issues recently reported by players (and a couple collision issues)
Lastly, we're really excited to announce the release date for another 'MonTamer Maker' game, which many of you may already know: Yami Kids!
Yami Kids ー Releases September 22nd, 2026
I've been working on this closely, together with one of my friends GameDevTosh, and the game will be published by us at Yanako RPGs!
This is the first game of ours to release following Dokimon, and is already in a much more polished state, and has a lot of excitement in store! Since this releases in less than one month, please consider checking out the trailer and giving the game a wishlist if you're interested!
Dokimon's DLC is currently 25% off for a limited time
That's all for this update! For now, I'll be busy working on Yami Kids, and then moving full steam ahead on expending the Dokimon universe following that release :)
If you've been enjoying Dokimon or it's updates, you might enjoy the sequel to get a few extra hours out of the game, and some neat new features and interactions!
Regardless, thank you all for supporting me and my work, and hope to see you in future projects!!!
Cheers!
