Achievements, Bigger Maps, and More
Gamepan's first big update is here. Gamepan now has achievements, every module is customizable with its own settings, the Map module was rebuilt from the ground up for huge maps, and there are new app-wide options plus a stack of fixes and polish. Here is everything that changed.
Achievements
Gamepan now has achievements that unlock as you set up games, try out modules, and make the app your own. There are 15 to earn, and they show up right on your Steam profile.
- 15 achievements spanning your first workspace, trying different module types, sharing setups, going tabletop, and more, all the way up to Completionist for earning every other one.
- Steam achievements unlock on your profile as you play.
- Built-in viewer in Settings, grouped into sections with progress bars, unlock dates, and a recently-unlocked sort so your latest earns rise to the top.
- Retroactive, so anything you have already done is credited the first time you open this update.
- Notification toggle if you would rather not see the unlock notification.
Reworked Map module
The Map / Pins module was rebuilt to handle big maps with a lot of markers.
- Handles thousands of pins with smooth panning and zooming, thanks to viewport culling that only draws what is on screen.
- Automatic clustering groups nearby pins into a single marker when zoomed out, and expands them as you zoom in.
- Spider expand fans out overlapping pins so you can pick any one, with a hover preview of what is inside a cluster.
- On-map category bar to show or hide whole categories of markers with one click.
- Pin search that jumps straight to a matching marker.
- Smooth animated zoom when you click a cluster, instead of snapping.
- Constant-size pins that stay crisp and readable at every zoom level.
- Collapsible pin panel that slides and fades away with a single pull-tab, so you can hand the whole module over to the map. The tab rides the panel edge as it opens and closes.
- Map image quality setting so you can choose how large uploaded maps are stored.
Every module is now customizable

New app-wide settings
- Time format (12-hour or 24-hour) set once and applied everywhere times appear: Calendar, Journal, Timers, Activity Log, and version history. Modules can still override it individually.
- Default image quality that new Gallery, Notes, and Builds modules inherit, so you set it once instead of per module.
Made for Steam Deck and small screens
- Deck mode scales the whole interface up for handheld readability and bigger touch targets. It turns on automatically when Gamepan detects a Steam Deck, and you can toggle it anytime in Settings.
- Collapsible workspace: hide the top bar and the tab list independently with a small pull-tab on each edge, so you can reclaim the whole screen for your modules. Click the tab again to slide them back. The tabs slide smoothly and follow your accent color.
- Handle controls: turn the pull-tabs on or off in Settings, together or one at a time (top bar and tab list separately), and set their size (small, medium, or large) so they are easy to grab on small or touch screens.
Polish and fixes
- Report a bug from inside Gamepan: a button in Settings opens a ready-to-paste report template with your version and OS filled in, plus a one-click link to r/Gamepan.
- Fresh icon set: the module icons across the Settings module list, the add-module picker, and the command palette were redrawn as clean matching line icons instead of emoji, and the map now has a proper Add pin icon.
- Settings Modules tab redesigned with a sticky, scroll-tracking sidebar that highlights every section in view, and clearer separation between each module.
- Spin the Wheel labels now read upright when a segment lands under the pointer.
- Confirm-before-opening is now on by default for links and resources.
- Gallery: captions update instantly, thumbnails no longer overlap or stutter when resizing.
- Builds: card size now visibly changes with the setting.
- Skill Tree: double-click empty canvas to drop a node where you click.
- Version history timestamps follow your time-format setting.
- The top bar and tab list slide smoothly when collapsed.
- The collapse pull-tabs no longer sit on top of the tutorial screen.
- Numerous smaller stability and layout fixes throughout.
Thank you for playing. As always, Gamepan stays local-first, with no accounts and no subscription. Bug reports and requests are welcome over at r/Gamepan.
