How checkpoints use to work:

Say you survive day 100 and 101, then you get overrun on day 102. The checkpoint system would have had you begin on day 100 wave 1.

How checkpoints work now:

Say you survive day 100 and 101, then you get overrun on day 102. The checkpoint system will now have you begin on day 102 wave 1.
