Special Unit

England now has Longbowman as first special unit, replacing Crossbowman.

Tooltip overhaul

  • A nested tooltips system now enable reading the game mechanics inside the game. Hovering over most tooltips over 2 seconds will pop up another with further detail.

  • The grudge tooltip now shows both current and next turn changes.

  • The population growth now shows a detailed tooltip listing affecting factors.

Gameplay

  • New Game Option: When enabled, units now can pass through own units. Occupying same tiles are still not allowed (except when assembling armies and ambushes)

  • New Game Option: When enabled, units can perform surprise attacks, declaring war effectively. Causes big diplomatic consequences with other factions within 40 tiles.

  • Towns now may disappear if abandoned for at least 10 turns. Visiting units reset the countdown.

  • Cutting woods now removes the log or game resource too, but awards the player with logs. (rainforests can still not be cut)

  • Depression now also decreases attack strengths.

  • Ships now return home when abandoned by the shore for 3 years

  • The ability "Heal All" will now heal all nearby regiments, not only own regiment.

  • Market prices are rebalanced to reflect production costs.

  • Replantation sliders will move automatically when replantation fails.

  • Any resource that is extracted now becomes visible to everyone.

  • Crossbowman range is now decreased to 2.

Visuals

  • HUD toggle button allows enabling different combinations of HUD elements; unit banner, event reports and shade.

  • Visuality related options are now persistent between sessions: Tutorial Lady toggle, camera-follow-mode toggle, info window toggle, sort by availability toggle.

  • Building buttons now show the name of the most fitting building even when disabled.

  • Expected wealth change is now available in the main HUD.

  • Current labor allocation is now available in the main HUD.

Controls

  • Key bindings can now be changed in the In-Game Menu.

Fixes

  • Labor Auto-allocation now does not ignore disabling when recruiting units.

  • Pending logistic changes are also saved in the save games now.

  • Regiment visibility now updates correctly during Hotseat games.

  • New found town automatic selection issue has been fixed.

  • Maps with big clumps of mountains are gone.

  • Regenerated maps are now less likely to miss a resource type.

  • Russian Empire now correctly recruits a Presbyter instead of Priest.
