v0.5.0 - The Second Act Update

On Steam

This update targets the long career. Previously the game stopped developing after roughly twenty days: nothing carried between shifts, the upgrade tree ran dry, and a promotion made the game smaller. All three are addressed.

New: Open Cases. Unfinished business now returns. A promised callback rings again. A dispatched technician may not have fixed it. A Tier 2 escalation can bounce back. A caller who hung up on an unsolved fault comes back angrier. Each case is bound to the same customer and the same problem, and their mood worsens for every day you leave it unresolved. Open cases are listed in TickIt before they ring so you can prepare, and you can close one early by calling out on LINE 2. Closing cases on time raises your weekly review; leaving them open lowers it.

New: Certifications. Four training tracks - Technical, Retention, Compliance, Sales - with three tiers each, from $200 to $1,500. Every course costs money and a training day, and that shift runs at about half the usual call volume. Technical raises resolved-call pay and unlocks advanced fault tickets including a new business static-IP scenario. Retention improves cancellation outcomes. Compliance reduces the irritation of verification questions and waives an extra compliance strike at the top tier. Sales improves upsell rates and commission.

New: Desk kit and apartments. NimbusMart gains a DESK storefront for cubicle cosmetics - a second monitor that widens your PC view, a desk lamp, rug, nameplate, second plant, and a mug warmer - and a HOME storefront for moving house. Better apartments cost more weekly rent but lower your starting stress, add coffee sips, and speed up stress recovery. You can also buy your place outright and end rent permanently.

Reworked: Supervision. Accepting the supervisor role previously replaced the shift with a six-entry multiple-choice quiz while disabling grifts, chaos days, day modifiers and the D.D. storyline. It is now a layer over the floor instead. You still take calls at around 60% volume. Escalations are handed up to you from named floor agents as real calls, with the caller already angry and the transcript showing what the original agent did. You can coach agents at a cost in shift time to reduce future escalations, set the morning floor posture, and choose whether to absorb a complaint onto your own record or document it against the agent. Chaos days and special days now apply to supervisors. Supervisors are paid a salary plus a pod performance bonus, and supervisor-tier grifts replace the agent-level ones.

Also: 13 new achievements, NimbusMart reorganised into tabs, and a text pass across the game. Existing saves load unchanged.
