Dagger Directive · build 24704076 · published
Dagger Directive Update 1.0 marks a major milestone for the game. With the depth, stability, and feature
set now in place, “Early Access” no longer reflects what the experience offers, so we’re officially calling this our 1.0 release.
Players now have 54+ weapons, 20 missions, and a wide range of systems to explore. Over the past months, we’ve dedicated significant effort to improving performance, accessibility, game design polish, and multiplayer networking. We’ve also expanded our UGC toolset, giving creators even more ways to build unique experiences. This update introduces the next campaign chapter, new weapons, new cosmetics, and additional content across the game. While Update 1.0 concludes our Early Access period, it does not mark the end of development. We still have content in the pipeline and will continue monitoring your feedback, bug reports, and suggestions. For the complete list of changes, adjustments, and fixes included in Update 1.0, please refer to the detailed change log below.

The 4th campaign in Dagger Directive series has been released. You will have new objective types and environments to experience. This campaign focuses on objectives to take down an insurgent Shadow named Shadow Front. Across five missions, you uncover a conspiracy stretching from Tajikistan to Afghanistan to the UAE and finally to a private island in the Persian Gulf. What begins as a simple rescue operation spirals into a multinational effort to stop a manufactured war, dismantle a mercenary network, and eliminate its architect.
A new set of 25 achievements has been added to Steam, bringing the total from the original 25 up to 50. The new batch covers a wider range of gameplay behaviors, progression milestones, and challenge‑oriented objectives. Several of these achievements are intentionally obscured to encourage experimentation, exploration, and a bit of mystery. You may discover some naturally through play, while others may require creative problem‑solving or unexpected actions to unlock. We’re genuinely excited to see players discover, earn, and ultimately collect as many as they can. A full list of the achievements available can be found on the Steam Achievements page.
There has been a wide variety of new cosmetics added allowing you to bring an even more unique look to the battlefield. Whether you prefer grounded tactical looks or more expressive thematic designs, the expanded cosmetic library offers significantly more flexibility in defining a unique identity during gameplay.

We implemented a broad set of AI behavior updates based on community reports and internal diagnostics. In 0.9.0 we focused on difficulty tuning, reaction logic, and weapon handling. For Update 1.0, we expanded the scope significantly:
Improved line‑of‑sight handling, including better interaction with environmental objects
Adjusted reaction‑time evaluation and player‑visibility checks
Resolved multiple underlying bugs that were impacting decision‑making, navigation, and combat behavior
These changes should result in more consistent and predictable AI performance across all encounters.
We addressed several long‑standing issues affecting lobby stability, including dropped sessions and failed joins. With help from community members who provided reproducible cases, we were able to isolate the root causes and implement fixes:
Reduced occurrences of black‑screen transitions
Improved connection reliability during lobby creation and matchmaking
Fixed multiple edge‑case failures that caused lobbies to disconnect unexpectedly
Players should experience significantly more stable multiplayer sessions.
We continued investigating performance reports across various hardware configurations. Grass rendering was identified as a major contributor to frame‑time spikes. Changes implemented:
Updated grass‑rendering behavior so foliage populates gradually rather than all at once
Reduced initial load impact and improved overall frame stability
These adjustments should provide smoother performance, especially in foliage‑dense areas. We’re eager to hear how Update 1.0 performs for you. Please continue sharing feedback and issue reports through the Steam Discussions Forum or our official Discord so we can keep improving the game.
We worked directly with UGC creators to investigate incoming reports, reproduce mission‑load issues, and validate fixes in creator environments. This collaboration helped us isolate the underlying causes and ship targeted improvements:
Fixed bugs affecting custom weapons when loading into missions
Improved reliability and consistency of custom‑weapon initialization across all mission types
Additionally, based on creator feedback and internal testing, we expanded the toolset available for custom map authors:
Added a new objective type: Defend Area, allowing creators to designate zones players must hold
Added air‑strike selection options for custom maps, enabling more tactical mission setups
Added ladders and animation triggers to broaden traversal options and scripted event possibilities
These additions give creators more flexibility when designing encounters and mission flow. We’ll continue working closely with UGC creators to refine tools, address issues, and expand functionality. Keep sharing feedback through Steam Discussions or Discord so we can keep improving the experience.
After the 1.0 update launches, the Steam Demo will be removed. The demo requires significant development work to match the quality and experience of 1.0, and we want it to accurately reflect what players can expect in the full game. A huge thank you to everyone who helped us reach this milestone.
Reduced grass vision check interval from 3 meters to 1 meter. This makes vision checks on players hiding in grass more accurate. As before, if you in singleplayer, or the host in multiplayer, has grass disabled the AI will ignore the grass because it isn’t there.
Reworked reaction times. It now scales based on distance and difficulty.
Reworked visibility checks to use different points on the player's body to get a vision percentage. The old system was weighted too heavily to the upper body, it’s now more evenly distributed.
