Hey there.
A big announcement today! A few days ago, I posted about Crosstalk being able to run my own kernel on an i386-compatible CPU. That is now also true for the main Crosstalk GUI application, where the CPU is running on the FPGA to the right, and the kernel (and its bootloader, which loads it into memory and jmps to it, which is itself loaded by my custom BIOS) is running on top of it.
The FPGA (the large white square to the right) is running the i386-compatible CPU. The Terminal window shows serial output coming from the core. The Memory window shows a slice of device memory (the FPGA's, in this case) that is near the start of the kernel. It can be used to navigate to any point in device memory or follow loc

This means that you could run nearly any x86 application. The rate at which it would execute is another matter, but for text-based programs, it's pretty usable. I want to make it fast enough for video, but I consider that a lower priority now that the foundation is in, and will focus on other features.
