Hello farmers, we've taken a break from working on year 2 content to get out this update to improve the base game. I want to say thank you to all of the community who help us with beta testing and translations, we couldn't do it without you!

The Year 2 update still has a long way to go. It won’t be coming out in 2026. I know a lot of you are rabidly awaiting it. I think this will be the last base game update for awhile because we want to hunker down and solely focus on year 2. Thank you for your continued patience while we work.

New:

• Clothing system: clothing are now equippable items and New Clothing!

• Buffs system: all cooked dishes give temporary buff effects.

• Eating cooked dishes for the first time gives a permanent +1 increase to stamina.

• Localization for Polish and French.

• Player species Dog and Sheep.

• More subspecies, ear options, and tail customization options.

• Can now color each ear in player customization.

• 8 decor path tile items.

• 3 fence items and 2 gate items.

• Item display sign.

• Additional decor options for table tops.

• Casual Difficulty mode: With the same requirements as gentle but no deaths.

• Game settings: Mine lighting, Mute tutorials, Easy fishing.

• Walk/run setting now saves and loads.

• Level up visual effect on player (butterflies/fireflies).

• “Skip prologue” option when starting a new game.

• Breakable coal rock objects in the mines.

Changes and tweaks:

• Updated critter building interiors.

• New reinforced temple sprite.

• Tool changes:

  • Watering Can: Infinite water capacity on final upgrade.

  • Pickaxe: Highlights all weak spots in the mines on final upgrade.

  • Scythe: Chance to drop a seed when scything any withered crop/forage on final upgrade.

  • Axe: Drop a plank on every tree cut down on the final upgrade.

  • Rod: Max Fish bites -1 per upgrade.

  • Hoe: Chance to drop items on dig farm tile, rarer items for each upgrade.

• “Saving…” critter icon randomized.

• Pressing fish now gives variable amounts of oil based on size (1,2,3,4)

• All dish prices and stamina amounts have been adjusted.

• All furniture item prices and some crafting recipes have been adjusted.

• Mine chest loot table adjusted.

• Mine ore/gems prices and drop rates adjusted.

• Made Deer, Dog, Fox, Feline use the same body type.

• Unused dirt tiles at the farm now turn back to grass over time.

• Food scarcity deaths cutscenes now take priority over town project death cutscenes.

• The build up before the finale has been shortened and given new dialogue.

• Villagers do not donate to TP if hungry (<1 days of food stocked).

• Tweaked relationship points values.

• Tweaked experience points values.

• Applied new Player Material shader for GPU optimization.

• Compost values have been limited, no more crazy high compost yields.

• Skills changes:

  • Crafter  is now Discover +1 crafting recipe per crafting recipe discovered.

  • Chef is now Discover +1 cooking recipe per cooking recipe discovered.

  • Renamed Cardio, Noble, and Seed Finder

  • Noble has no coin bonus on start, and instead has 20% extra coins from bottles.

  • Student increased to 10%

  • BodyBuilder increased to 20%

  • Stoat skill increased to 5%

  • LateNightMunchies is now 6pm instead of 8pm

  • Efficient Grazer decreased to 25%

  • Green Paw decreased 5%

  • Winter Stash decreased to 10%

  • Butcher decreased to 20%

  • Careful Miner increased to 60%

  • Swapped tiers of naturalist/prospector with Seed Finder and Cardio.

  • Changed Social Sleuth: -> Popular: More likely to receive gifts.

  • Changed bear skill to chikree honey production +20%.

Bugs and issues fixed:

• Infinite zombie alpheep milk.

• Chopping trees too quickly consumes 1 extra stamina on the stump.

• Trees outside the farm never regrow if chopped down on the first time in the area.

• Displaying gates in Hoppers shop.

• Crows spawning inside home after sleeping.

• Completing a quest removes the current pinned quest even if unrelated.

• Missing translations for "Geriatric" for critter details display.

• Kiln footprint adjusted, it was too big.

• Infinite butchering.

• Optimization issue in butcher menu.

• Feline/Rodent/Mustelids not being insulted properly.

• Missing tails on file select portraits.

• Percy Like: Sunflower seeds should have been Salted Sunflower Seeds.

• Added an extra check for ensuring Steam Achievements update properly.

• Some beds were missing the starting color when cycling through the colors.

• Icebox UI visuals.

• Town Project visuals showed up before the completion cutscene played.

• Fixed Jack and Poppy are located in the Temple on map screen during siege.

• Removed some bad forage growth spots on trees/rocks/shrubs.

• NoBuild zone showing in cutscenes at farm.

• No critter spawning day(s) after taming a critter.

• A case of Critters disappearing.

• Fixed a Rootcellar food amounts rounding error.

• Various fixes and optimizations I forgot to write down…
