The Crimson Contract · public · first seen
Patch 0.9.4 is mostly co-op cleanup. Cutscenes that only played correctly for the host, a lobby that stacked everyone onto one spawn point, and earnings that refused to reset between runs. There's also a new spectator camera for when you go down, and better feedback for when you're getting chewed on. We ship updates regularly, so keep the reports coming.
Downed spectator camera. When you go down with no self-revives left, you can now cycle the camera through your surviving squadmates and NPC operatives instead of staring at the dirt. Q and E on keyboard, bumpers on a controller. The camera comes back to your body the moment someone starts reviving you.
Taking a hit now bleeds red in from the edges of the screen, scaled to how hard you got hit. A big hit reads as a big hit, and the effect lingers while you're running on low health.
Radio chatter is color coded by context now. Downed calls read purple, boss warnings red, low health amber, operative arrivals teal. Easier to parse the feed at a glance mid-fight.
Dossier scrolling is quicker on both the mouse wheel and the right stick.
Dossiers now hold DISMISS until you've scrolled to the bottom, and the button actually responds to a controller instead of the mouse only.
Operative cards in the lobby read see-through, so the character models behind them are visible instead of buried under a stack of solid cards.
Players and NPC operatives no longer pile onto the same spawn point when you return to the Main Menu.
The Forest rescue sequence works in co-op now. The squad gets pulled toward the middle of the map instead of assembling wherever the host happened to go down, and every player's camera cuts to the scene instead of staying put.
Cutscenes no longer stutter or feel frozen for clients in multiplayer, and character animations during them play for everyone rather than just the host.
NPC squadmates hold their fire during cinematics instead of gunning down the horde mid-scene.
Total earnings reset between matches. They used to carry over from your last run into the next one.
Bears and the rest of the wildlife no longer slide across the ground while standing still or taunting.
The tutorial's opening walkthrough no longer shows your character walking in or pops them into frame at the end, and radio chatter stays quiet through it.
Pausing during the tutorial hides the tutorial panels behind the pause menu, and resuming drops you back into the step you were on instead of turning your controls loose.
