Infinite Voyager · build 23486386 · published
It's taken some time, but I'm happy to announce that Inifinite Voyager now has new sprites for all warships and a brand-new mechanic.
Like I said before, I'm not much of an artist, but there is no way in Hell I am using AI Art.
Which is why I'm happy to announce that the warships have brand new sprites by the great Vitaliy "Kruger" Ostaschenko. He's great, and you can find his Artstation here, and follow him on social media here.
The new sprites are for the Dreadnought, Cruiser, and Frigate classes of warships.
Contracts are a new mechanic in Starships of a Line, where you'll be rewarded for completing specific tasks.
To begin a contract, land on a planet and go to the Contract Broker. Here, you can view all available contracts on the planet, along with the objective, the target faction, and the reward. Click "Accept Contract" to add it to your list of active contracts.
For example, this contract will have you capturing 3 Cathay League Dreadnoughts for the Society of Ricci. Once you have captured all three Dreadnoughts, the Society of Ricci will transfer your reward.
You can view your active contracts by clicking on the "Active Contracts" tab in the pause menu.
Right now, there are three contract types:
Scouting Planets
Ship Bounty (Capture Intact)
Ship Bounty (Kill or Capture)
Additional contract types will be added in later updates, and the mechanic will play a key role in the final release.
This time, there's a whole list of bugs and glitches that've been fixed, so I'm just going to list them out:
Re-balanced combat by decreasing damage
Added additional missiles to Cruiser
Reworked Railguns on Cruiser and Dreadnought
Added Countermeasures for Cruiser and Dreadnougwht
Reworked Plasma Cannons on Heavy and Large Freighters
Fixed menu icons for Heavy and Large Freighters
Fixed starship sprites appearing in the credits
Fixed missile sound glitch for Heavy Freighter
Fixed notification bar color
Improved space travel speed by 33%
Fixed boarding pause menu reset
Re-balanced sounds for ship combat and boarding
I'm pretty happy with how the new sprites look and how Contracts came out. After this, it's just a matter of working out the main story and the Voyagers, and Infinite Voyager will be ready for a full release.
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this update as much as I did working on it.
