One Way Mirror: AI · build 23186215 · published
Hi everyone!
Patch 0.6.16 is now live.
This update focuses mainly on display support and AI performance options, especially for players using less powerful PCs.
The game now supports 4K resolution.
You can select it from the display settings if your monitor and system support it.
A new AI Mode called Super Fast has been added.
You can select it from the settings when using AI Model: Performance.
This mode makes the AI less detailed, but much faster. It is designed for PCs that struggle with the normal AI processing speed.
Use Super Fast if you have already selected AI Model: Performance, but NPCs are still responding too slowly on your system.
Please note that the first message sent to an NPC, whether they are a suspect or not, may take longer to process. This happens because the AI needs to “warm up” first. After that initial message, responses should usually become faster.
To make the tradeoff between AI detail and speed clearer, here is the order from most detailed to fastest:
1. AI Model: Quality
The most detailed AI behavior. Requires a stronger PC.
2. AI Model: Performance + AI Mode: Normal
Faster than Quality, while still keeping a good level of detail.
3. AI Model: Performance + AI Mode: Fast
Less detailed, but faster.
4. AI Model: Performance + AI Mode: Super Fast
The fastest option, with the least detailed AI behavior.
The Fast and Super Fast AI Modes are no longer available when using AI Model: Quality.
This change was made to avoid confusion. If you want faster AI processing and you are currently using AI Model: Quality, switch to AI Model: Performance first.
In practice, the faster version of Quality is already the Performance model.
This update should make the AI settings easier to understand and give players with lower-end PCs more control over performance.
Thanks again for playing and for sharing your feedback!
