TF2 Classified 3.0.9 Update Released

An update to Team Fortress 2 Classified has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Team Fortress 2 Classified. The major changes include:

General Changes


  • Added a custom 2D skybox renderer:

    • Fixed sky faces being visibly culled on high FOVs (#3)

    • Fixed issues with loading skies that don't provide materials for all faces

    • Added a fallback texture for when a face is missing

    • Engine renderer can be toggled using r_skybox_use_new_renderer 0

  • Added support for adjusting each player's voice volume independently in the Mute Players menu

  • Fixed players being able to mute themselves

  • Fixed "An Experienced World Traveler" achievement not tracking progress on Steam

  • Added an option to toggle classic shading

    • Turning off classic shading will restore live TF2 shading for players, buildings, and weapons

  • Added ConVarEx, a new material proxy

  • Disabled texture streaming by default (#613)

    • It can instead be re-enabled by passing in the -texture_stream command-line parameter

  • Re-added voice pitch adjustments for tranquilized and hastened players (#701)

    • Configurable with tf2c_voice_pitch_tranq and tf2c_voice_pitch_vip_haste ConVars respectively

  • Fixed reflected darts not tranquilizing players (#350)

  • Fixed muffled ambience not playing when tranquilized

  • Re-added audio cue for when the Shock Therapy is fully charged

  • Fixed Rejuvenator's Übercharge not awarding Übercharges score

  • Fixed a crash related to custom projectile trail effects

  • Fixed an issue where switching to a disguise's weapon that has an extra_wearables attribute would cause an edict to leak

  • Fixed on-hit attributes working strangely with disguised Spies in Multi-Team modes (#855)

  • Fixed materials using the no_decal surface property showing concrete decals

  • Linux binaries are now built using Steam Runtime 3 "sniper"

    • This fixes startup issues on older Linux distributions

  • Updated localization files

UI Changes


  • Updated the main menu:

    • Reworked links panel and added a donation button

    • Opening external links will now conditionally use the Steam overlay or your system's default browser, depending on fullscreen mode

    • Removed hardcoded game version in favor of %gameversion%

  • Fixed building kills with the Shock Therapy displaying the wrong kill icon

  • Added missing SVG kill icons for the Shock Therapy and Admiralty Anchor

  • Fixed various SVG kill icons not being used (#547)

  • Removed requirement for color class on SVG kill icons

  • Fixed gradients on SVG kill icons ignoring colors (#873)

  • Improved detection of style tags on SVGs

Particle Changes


  • Fixed Medi Gun marker setting causing Medi Gun beams to disappear (#725)

    • Medi Gun markers will be changed in a future patch

Material Changes


  • Updated player, building, and weapon materials to support classic shading toggle

  • Updated building gib materials to use Patch shader

  • Updated pickup truck textures
