RustForge reaches its official launch of Version 4.0.0.0. This isn't just a patch, it is a complete foundational shift! We have moved beyond simple automation into a "Smart Engine" era, introducing high-level logic that monitors your game, in real-time to ensure when you die, crash, or get kicked, your progress is always saved.
From the introduction of the VoidWatch Sentinel System to a total overhaul of DPI Scaling, this update ensures that RustForge remains the most resilient and intelligent painting tool available on Steam. Whether you are dealing with game crashes, high-resolution displays, or complex image filtering, 4.0 has you covered.
Loss of progress is now a thing of the past. We have implemented the VoidWatch Sentinel Monitoring System, a background watch-dog that protects your painting sessions from external interference.
Active Monitoring: Sentinel watches your screen to detect if the canvas window or game window disappears (due to death screens, server kicks, or accidental alt-tabbing). The moment the window is lost, your state is instantly saved.
Crash Protection: If Rust crashes or closes unexpectedly, RustForge now detects the process termination and saves your progress locally, allowing for a seamless recovery.
In-Session AutoSave: Your canvas state is now automatically backed up during the painting process, giving you a safety net for long-form art pieces.
We’ve refined the ThreadMod Engine to push the boundaries of speed without sacrificing a single pixel of accuracy.
Logarithmic Smart Detection: The "Auto-Detect" button has been replaced with a Frequency Analysis system. It uses logarithmic scaling and intelligent rounding to identify color clusters, ensuring the engine "sees" the image more like a human artist and less like a spreadsheet.
DPI Auto-Calibration: Windows DPI scaling (125%, 150%, etc.) used to be the enemy of precision. Version 4.0 now includes an Auto-Detect and Calibrate feature that aligns the engine with your Windows display settings automatically.
Wide-Screen Support: The engine now natively supports ultra-wide and non-standard aspect ratios, ensuring no distortion regardless of your monitor setup.
The built-in editor is now a powerhouse of its own, giving you more control before the first drop of paint hits the canvas.
Advanced Filtering: New value fields allow you to adjust filter strength and pixel density in real-time. We’ve also added .webp support alongside traditional formats.
Ghost Overlay (Resume On Click): To make resuming a painting easier, we’ve added a low-opacity image overlay. When you use "Resume On Click," you can see exactly what is left to be painted and which color you need to select next.
Hotkey Hijack Protection: Fixed an issue where other background apps could "steal" your hotkey focus. If a hotkey fails to register now, the engine will automatically pause or stop the loop rather than getting stuck, preventing "runaway" painting.
UI Modernization: The Settings UI has been completely refreshed for better navigation, with more visual overhauls currently in development.
Note: We have officially scrapped the "Estimated Time Remaining" window for now. Due to varying system loads and the high-speed nature of the new ThreadMod engine, the math was too inconsistent to meet our standards for precision. We prefer providing no data over inaccurate data!
