My original goal was to release Chesscape Room into early access with just a basic campaign and custom mode, but I'm happy to report that we're going into early access almost fully featured! While not every feature will be fully fleshed out and immediately available, they should become available in the month following the early access release. Features include:
Campaign mode with multiple official campaigns to play through.
A set of puzzles to play
Custom mode where you can generate boards and play
An editor which includes procedural generation, manual painting, saving, loading and uploading single boards, as well as a campaign creator.
Your account with a rating, which can be linked to chess.com
Versus mode, local and online.
Early Access will be mostly used to improve official campaigns, iron out any issues with online play and the board and campaign editing as well as sharing, and add quality of life improvements. Last but not least, to improve AI. :)
It's recommended you play with mouse, but limited support for Keyboard and gamepad exist, both for the game and UI. You might run into some UI/gameplay switching issues, though. They're not fully supported, but might be. If you're buying Chesscape Room or have bought it, thank you! The game is made from the ground-up by me as a solo developer, so it means a lot!
