Now With More Juice!

major update

Greetings Fellow Aethernauts,

This is a small but important update since presenting Astral Planes at SIGGRAPH this month. I've been tightening the ecosystem with a focus on the micro interactions to increase design legibility.

That sounds kind of pretentious. Let me step back a bit. This game has gone through many iterations to create a playable music system. The music you play and co-author in this demo could be considered as a demo that a band might throw together. It's me figuring out how to compose music for this system, and that should give you an idea of what something with more material might sound like (or in this case, play like). Each one is called a motif.

This game is experimental. I've been trying to create just enough friction that figuring out the system is its own kind discovery and experience. This update iterates on bits of juice and polish that feel pretty nice.

If you're playing alone, I recommend headphones. Here is the list of motifs in this demo:

Phase 1

1 - Intro (Still Sky)

2 - Two (Still Sky, Guitar)

3 - Waiting (Still Sky, Guitar, Light Keys, Sub Bass)

4 - Here We Go (Light Keys, Guitar, Detroit Keys, Muted Bass)

5 - Circus (Still Sky, Bass, Wah, Synth)
