Since there haven't been any official announcements here for a while, we would like to mention the current work and address the criticism received.
Development Status
World of Retailing has not received any further public updates since the last major update (towards the end of 2022), but we assure you that we are still working on the game, albeit at a slower pace due to time constraints.
- The current development status includes several bug fixes:
- Fixed an issue where interactions were indicated even when there was no possibility for interaction.
- The BlackMarket was not available for rent or purchase.
- NPCs became increasingly rare in the city after a certain amount of playtime due to faulty spawn conditions.
- NPCs were unable to make any more purchases after spending a certain amount (based on their starting budget) because they no longer had enough money for most products. The limit for when NPCs can buy things has been increased, and the respawn behavior of NPCs has been changed to prevent complete bankruptcy.
- The decision-making process of NPCs has been adjusted to be more dynamic, especially regarding the potential opening of the BlackMarket, which requires higher fluctuation to be effectively utilized.
- The tutorial NPC now has an additional condition before being able to move from their current spot to the next, ensuring that the player doesn't lose sight of them. Additionally, the tutorial NPC has been given the ability to take alternative paths, providing the player with easier routes.
- The engine sound of vehicles could not be adjusted higher or lower regardless of the setting. This can now be controlled using the "SFX Volume" slider.
- There are also already parts of the new systems for future personnel management (and therefore for the staff themselves).
