⚙️ DEV DIARY 04: NEW TRAILER, TUTORIAL MODE // COMING SOON! ⚙️

Hey everyone!

We’re back with another exciting update as Ferrous: Digital Edition continues to evolve during our Early Access journey. First off—a massive thank you to all of you who supported the launch of Patch 01. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s been incredibly helpful in shaping what comes next.

✅ PATCH 01 RECAP: A Strong First Push
Patch 01 marked a huge step forward in stability, performance, and quality-of-life improvements. Your feedback was clear, detailed, and inspiring—and we're happy to say that many of the most-requested changes are now live. UI fixes, responsiveness improvements, and overall game polish were the focus, and we're thrilled to see that many of you have noticed the difference.

Now, it's time for Patch 02. And this one's a big one.

🎓 NEW FEATURE: TUTORIAL MODE
We know that jumping into a tactics-heavy, mech-strategy experience like Ferrous can be intense—so we're introducing a full Tutorial Mode, available directly from the main menu. This isn't just a short demo—it’s a smart, scenario-driven guide to the core mechanics of Ferrous: movement, action economy, range and terrain, and more.

This new mode is your onboard ramp to mastering the battlefield. See our latest trailer demonstrating it here below:

📚 DEEPER LORE: RULEBOOK ACCESS & ORIGINAL VIDEO
As part of our continued collaboration with Lewis R. K., the original creator of Ferrous: The Board Game, we’re adding something special for the lore lovers and tabletop tacticians out there:

📖 In-Menu Access to the Original Ferrous Rulebooks

🎥 Lewis’ Original YouTube Game Explanation Video — narrated by Lewis himself!

You’ll find these under the Tutorial section in the main menu. Whether you’re curious about how the tabletop rules compare or just want to hear the creator’s voice walk you through the design, it’s a beautiful touchpoint between digital and analog worlds.

🧱 COMING SOON IN PATCH 02: OBSTACLE & COVER MECHANICS
We’re also wrapping up the final missing core feature from the original Ferrous Beta (Alpha Build)—Obstacles and Entity Cover Mechanics. You asked for it, and it’s coming. Terrain should matter. Line of sight should matter. We agree.

Expect destructible and static obstacles that meaningfully change how you approach combat. Whether you're flanking, taking overwatch, or blocking a line of fire, these additions will deepen tactical decision-making and bring the Ferrous battlefield to life.

🗣️ BUILT WITH YOU
Patch 02 is centered around community feedback and feature requests. You’ve told us what you love, what you’re missing, and where you want us to go. We’re listening—and building Ferrous alongside you, step by step.

Want to get more involved? Join us on to shape future builds and gain early insights.

Thank you again for believing in Ferrous. We’re still early, but the momentum is growing—and we can’t wait to show you what’s next.

⚙ Stay tuned. Stay sharp.
