The Cannon is a new Epic block that launches items into a block or onto a tile ahead of it. It comes with the new card "Extra Gunpowder" and reduces the necessity of conveyors. With this, the potential of larger mechanisms skyrockets, as automation will be much easier.
The Teleporter is a new Legendary block that teleports items and players from one teleporter to another. It can be used both to receive and send items, so it can be used to save lots of space in the cave. It also comes with the card "Overclocking." Teleporters must be connected in pairs.
The Safe is a new block that is exclusive to the shop in the Infinite and Pure Chaos game modes. Its purpose is to display the chances of each rarity in the shop's stock. It also allows players to increase the chances of higher rarity blocks, or decrease the chances of lower rarity blocks. The price for upgrading the shop is not final and may be adjusted in future patches.
Steam Remote Play was previously disabled for Compactory, which forced players to use 3rd party services to play Local Multiplayer remotely. So, by popular request, Steam Remote Play is now enabled for Compactory. Although this isn't Online Multiplayer, it provides an opportunity for those who are willing to play Local Multiplayer remotely. Online Multiplayer is coming in the next patch!
Previously, Dynamite seemed weak for its main purpose: to destroy blocks. It was limited to destroying blocks that accepted items because dynamite was originally designed as an Item.
However, in this patch, Dynamite was redesigned as a Tool and can now destroy any blocks surrounding it. It still remains at the same price and rarity, but now it has four times the value, if not more for being able to destroy ores. Just be careful to not accidentally destroy something important!
Many players found the scaling of the quota to be too difficult before this patch. Especially in single-player, it felt impossible to keep up with the ever-increasing quota while trying to build a strategy.
As a result, the quota was readjusted to scale more dramatically only in the latest rounds before Round 20. This way, players who were lucky enough to reach later rounds will be challenged by the higher quotas, while players in the earlier rounds will still be given room to grow. The new quota scaling may be adjusted in future patches.
Before this patch, all Alloys seemed too weak compared to their ingredients. There was no incentive for an alloy setup when players already had a high multiplier for a base metal like copper. Alloys just seemed like a less efficient and tedious strategy to build.
For these reasons, alloys have been reworked to have their value based on the value of their ingredients. More formally, the value of an alloy is the sum of its ingredients with an additional ten coins. If a Copper Bar is worth 20 coins and a Gold Bar is worth 30 coins, then a Rose Gold Bar would be worth 60 coins. The Ultimate Alloy was also considered, and its value, when formed in the Alloy Smelter, is based on the value of the alloys used to make it. Ultimate Alloy found in Pandora's Box will have a base value of 100 coins, while other alloys still have their values based on their ingredients. With this, alloys become a much more profitable line of income as they have the potential to increase their value through multiple cards instead of one.
Previously, the Fabricator was capable of copying Crates, including the items it contained. Although this was originally intended, it completely eliminated the need to create an automated setup.
To avoid this, the Fabricator was adjusted to create a copy as if it had just been purchased from the Shop. It is still free of cost, but the copied block will not have any information from the target transferred to it.
As mentioned above, this card is targeted towards the Cannon. It increases the cannon's projectile's speed at the cost of increasing the chance of a misfire. When a misfire occurs, the Cannon appears to fire, but the item stays in the barrel and the fuse timer resets. This encourages players to limit how many of these cards they take since the chance for misfire can eventually make the Cannon completely useless.
As mentioned above, this card is targeted towards the Teleporter. It increases the speed at which the Teleporter charges up at the cost of increasing how long it takes to cool down. When a teleporter is cooling down, it cannot accept Items from outside blocks, but it can still receive an Item from its pair. This encourages players to use teleporters as a two-way exchange, where items enter and exit from both of the paired teleporters.
The recently released card "Squeaky Clean" was a card targeted at the Polisher. It increased its working speed at the cost of doubling its price in the Shop. However, it can be agreed that just having the price of the block doubled is unintuitive and boring. As a result, instead of increasing the cost, the card now increases the chance of the Polisher destroying its gem after processing.
The card "Endless Grind" is a card targeted at the Grindstone. It increased the number of hits per use of the sharpened tool at the cost of doubling its price and increasing the hits required to apply sharpness. However, the double debuff seemed unfair and only discouraged the use of the Grindstone. As a result, the card now only increases the number of hits required to apply sharpness.
