Hello everyone and welcome to DevLog #20 for the WRS3!

Today, we’re taking a look at one of the features we’ve spent the most time developing and one we’re especially proud of: our 3D snow system!

At the same time, it has also been one of the biggest technical challenges in WRS3. That’s because the 3D snow system is available across the entire map, not just on the slopes. Wherever snow is present, it can be physically deformed.

In WRS3, snow is no longer just a surface. You can drive over it, move it, and push it into piles. This creates a completely new level of interaction, especially on ski runs and in terrain parks.

When grooming, you can now actively shape the snow. This allows you to smooth out crests and depressions, level uneven terrain, or deliberately build up new snow features.

Vehicles now also leave tracks in the snow, visibly changing the snow surface as you drive across it. And of course, the entire system also works in multiplayer, allowing multiple players to work on and reshape the same snow-covered terrain together.

How you work with the snow is entirely up to you. Whether you want perfectly groomed slopes, custom-shaped snow features, or your own snowpark, the possibilities are nearly endless.

That's it for this DevLog!

Thank you for joining us on this journey. Feel free to leave us comments, share your thoughts on the official Discord channel or let us know what you'd like to see in the next logs.

Until next time at DevLog #21!
