Patch 0.3.1

First patch. It was supposed to be a small one. Then a whole new job walked in.

New

  • Job 7: The Strip-Out. You are inside the building this time. Gut the partitions, leave the shell standing, and watch the ceiling — the landlord bills a hole in the roof at the same rate as a wall you were meant to keep. Unlocks after The Yard. Fresh off the bench and shipping early because it is more fun to play than to wait for.

Changed

  • The Orbital Laser hits harder. Debris gets kicked out of the beam and tumbles instead of sliding off politely, and the shaft throws its own sparks.

  • The store page finally matches the game: five tools, two sandboxes. It has been that way in the build since day one.

Fixed

  • The garden shed now honours your tool upgrades. It was running every tool at base tier no matter what you had bought. If the first job felt tougher than the jobs after it, that is why. Its star bars were tuned against the old behaviour, so they get re-measured before they move.

Heads-up on the new job

  • The Strip-Out ships a little raw. The view out of its windows is still being built, and the second star is a stubborn one — when the ceiling goes, it tends to go in a cluster, so it is a clean shell or several tiles at once. Consider that part of the puzzle for now. If you find a route we did not, F8 it.

  • Star thresholds across the campaign get moved with numbers, not by feel. When one moves, it moves once.

Not in this patch

  • The shaped charge still reaches past the building it is stuck to. Fix is next in the queue.

Found something? Press F8

Anywhere in the game. It grabs the frame, the job state and your system info, and drops it where we read it. If a star feels unfair, tell us which job — that is exactly what we want to hear.

Community8 Sep 2026What Comes Next: Bigger Jobs, and the Tech to Run ThemWhat Comes Next: Bigger Jobs, and the Tech to Run Them Every job in DEMO IT is one building. That is not a design choice. It is the limit of the technology the game runs on, and this post is about what we are doing to lift it. The Short Version · We have been building our own destruction system alongside the game. · It breaks things at the moment they break, instead of storing every piece a bui…Steam news2 Sep 2026DEMO IT! Official Early Access ReleaseToday is the day! The official release of CrossAge Studio's (my) first game — DEMO IT! Ready to teach your neighbor the proper placement of a shed? Did you sign off on the forms you totally didn't make up, and hijack an orbital laser to precisely destroy everything but the rundown office building? Then congratulations. You're hired. The job DEMO IT! is a physics demolition puzzle. You are hande…Community2 Sep 2026DEMO IT launches early!DEMO IT launches September 3 — two weeks early We had DEMO IT down for September 18. It is coming out on September 3 instead. The reason is simple: the build is finished. We would rather have you playing it than sit on a finished game for another fortnight — and since the entire point of launching in Early Access is to find out what players think, every week we wait is a week of not knowing. No…
