The Deep Dwellers—a race that had lain silent for centuries—were drawn by the filth and swam from the deep sea into the rivers. Under the miasma's mutagenic influence, they transformed into upright monsters with swollen eyes and grotesque limbs. They overran the inland wetlands and contaminated water sources throughout the region with their toxins.
An anonymous party has posted a recruitment request through the Mercenary Aid Society, offering a high commission for mercenaries to exterminate these rampaging fish-headed monsters and purify the contaminated wetlands.
