  • Gameplay: Added “Follow Me Car Bays”. Follow Me Cars are no longer stationed on Runways, but a new buildable area called the “Follow Me Car Bay”. When placed next to a taxiway, Follow Me Cars will meet aircraft on the taxiway. Follow Me Car bays also need to be joined to that taxiway with a road. This new system avoids Follow Me Cars using Runways and avoids the issue of Follow Me Cars needing to race across the Runway before the next flight arrives (which is very difficult with the recently introduced Longer Runways).

Separate Follow Me Cars Bays will be needed for inbound and outbound aircraft. For inbound aircraft, Follow Me Cars meet aircraft next to the Follow Me Car Bay and take them to their stands. They will need a road connection, to return to the Follow Me Car Bay. If they are placed too close to the end of the aircraft’s path, they will not deploy as their benefit would be too small.

For outbound aircraft, Follow Me Cars use a regular road to go to an aircraft’s stand and then lead it to the taxiway next to the Follow Me Car Bay. If they are placed too close to the beginning of the aircraft’s path, they will not deploy as their benefit would be too small.

While this mechanic makes Follow Me Cars harder to implement, we felt there was a benefit to realism, as Follow Me Cars shouldn’t really be on the Runway.

  • Gameplay: The speed of aircraft when led by Follow Me Cars was increased.
  • Gameplay: The cost of Follow Me Cars was reduced slightly, to compensate the maintenance cost of the Follow Me Car bay. The Follow Me Car bays support up to four cars (an increase from the three previously supported by Runways).
  • Gameplay: Added the option on runways to limit landing aircraft sizes. The limits do not apply to Military aircraft (to avoid cheating the policy) or aircraft on gate contracts (which could become stuck if no appropriate runway is available). Limitation to aircraft of size 0 is only allowed if propellor aircraft are allowed in policies (or there won’t be enough aircraft to land). The size limit does not apply to aircraft taking off (to avoid them being stuck with no runway).
  • Gameplay: Penalty fees are no longer charged for late Military Aircraft, even when the Maintenance Time Service Guarantee policy is active. As Military Aircraft don’t pay for the use of services, it seems unfair for them to ever charge penalty fees.

  • Graphics: Added a greater variety of trees and bushes, which are unique to each continent.
  • Graphics: Trees and bushes now spawn in a more realistic way, clumping together into groups rather than being spread evenly across the whole map.
  • Options: Added the option to revert back to “Basic” tree designs (the new models may be slightly more demanding for some graphics cards, although we spent a long time on their optimization).
  • UI: As runways now have aircraft size limits, the option to view and change the airport name has been moved to the Flight Information Menu. It is still possible to change the airport name at the ATC tower.

Game update1 Aug 2026Update Notes for 1 Aug 2026Gameplay: Added the option to play with “Longer Runways” when starting a new game. Longer runways present an extra challenge to the player as they take more space and good service times will require combinations of landing and takeoff runways. To ensure the player can actually build a longer runway when starting, two random extra tiles will be given to the player upon starting with this option.…Game update18 Jul 2026Update Notes for 18 Jul 2026Gameplay: Introduced “Operational Disruptions”. Occasionally, an aircraft might now arrive with a tyre fault, light fault, or sensor fault. The arriving aircraft will come with a warning message by default. Tyre faults will require a special Transporter with a “Tyre Trailer”, while light and sensor faults will require a special Transporter with an “Access Platform”. Players have two options for…Game update13 Jul 2026Update Notes for 13 Jul 2026To prepare for future developments, we have had to change the format of save game files. Unfortunately, old save games will not be able to fully load lists of previously purchased vehicles and staff, taxiway-road crossings may need rebuilding, escalator directions may need resetting, and gate linkages reset. We are sorry for the inconvenience that this will cause, however, it will give us bette…
