We’d like to talk with you about the future of The Bus and share what we still have planned for this year. We’re currently preparing changes to the game, new content and the way we work with our community. This post gives you an overview of what we’re working on and the new opportunities these plans will offer.
Your responses to our feedback survey help us shape these plans. They show us where you’d like to see improvements and which issues we still need to address, so we’re using that feedback to guide our planning. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences with us!
For the rest of the year, we have the following planned:
Multiplayer improvements: We’re working to fix crashes and disconnections and improve performance.
Adding buses from Fernbus Simulator: We want to make buses from Fernbus Simulator playable in The Bus as well.
Partial and intersecting routes: We plan to expand AI bus traffic with additional routes, such as the M45 at S+U Zoologischer Garten. You won’t be able to drive these routes yourself, but you’ll encounter their buses while driving.
At the same time, we continue to improve the stability of The Bus and work on performance optimizations and bug fixes. We are also continuing to work on telemetry for consoles and a complete overhaul of the transmissions.
Further quality-of-life improvements are planned for the future, although we can’t share specific details yet. We’ve also updated our roadmap so you can keep track of our other plans.
Alongside these improvements, new content is being developed. We recently released Update 1.2, which is free for all players, and the Ebus 2.2, while further DLCs are already in development by us and other developers. The overview below gives you a look at these expansions and extends beyond our plans for this year.

Please note: The expansion names listed here are provisional and may change. For now, they are used only to identify the planned content.
All of these DLCs will be available on all platforms. Their development does not limit our ongoing work on The Bus, as we continue developing the game in parallel and collecting your feedback to fix issues and make improvements.
Route 17 will be extended by another 2.7 km to the east, though this will take a little more time. Route 17 will not be the last route added to Hamburg City.
The roads from the central bus station (ZOB) to the Herrentunnel are already in place, and areas are being developed and decorated. More objects are also being completed, with the Priwall ferry planned as a highlight.
Many of the objects are already complete, and the next developer diary will introduce Victoria Station. London is being built as individual “islands” that will later be connected.
Third-party developers are responsible for their own DLCs, so please send feedback on those expansions directly to the relevant developers.
We’d like to host more Q&A sessions so we can talk with you regularly and discuss issues early on. These sessions will give you opportunities to raise concerns and ask about topics you’d like to know more about.
We’re also continuing to follow the suggestions you share with us and other players on our Discord server. We’re interested to see what ideas you bring forward and how you discuss them.
Beyond these conversations, we want to strengthen our collaboration with you. We’re therefore completely overhauling our partner program to offer you even more attractive opportunities from 2027 to create content for our games and work with us over the long term.
We also want to showcase more of the content you create for The Bus. That’s why we’re putting a greater focus on modding, as your mods expand the game and open up new possibilities for the community. We’d especially like to thank all modders for their work and the countless hours they put into their mods. To give that work more visibility, we’ll be featuring many of your mods from the Steam Workshop on our social media channels in the near future. Giving your work more attention is the least we can do.
We’ll keep you updated on our next steps and look forward to showing you more of the upcoming content and changes for The Bus!
