Remember your last trip to the dentist? The whine of the drill, that smell, the calm voice promising "this won't hurt a bit"... Delicate work on tiny human teeth calls for delicate instruments. Now take a look at this great white shark. A regular dental drill would get lost somewhere between the back teeth of those enormous jaws, and so would the dentist. So we skipped the dental tray and went straight to the hardware store.
Tool #1: Hammer drill
First up is a hammer drill to prep a tooth for treatment. It's perfect for chipping off years of rock-hard tartar. Just go easy on the vibration. You really, really don't want to wake the patient:
Tool #2: Circular saw
Next is a circular saw for cutting off tooth overgrowths and anything else in the way. A scalpel won't cut it here. Literally:
Tool #3: Pressure washer
A dental water flosser won't make a dent in teeth this battered. You'll need a pressure washer, a strong grip and even stronger nerves to hold it steady a few inches from a mouth that could swallow you whole:
One look at this horrifying, toothy beauty, and your hand will reach for the right tool on its own. Preferably a very long one:
