More fixes for bugs found by playtesters, as well as optimisations (particularly shadows) and QOL improvements such as additional tutorials.
- The game should now be more performant, especially in the starting area/lobby, as the shadows/lighting have been optimised to reduce active Tris in the scene.
- Altered the shadow quality labels in the settings to better reflect their effect on the game.
- Changed the pixelation slider values to improve performance and clarity.
- Changed the location of the cassette player to be easier to find.
- Added a tutorial prompt for when you pick up your first cassette to remind players how to use it.
- Improved edge-case mining logic, which should eliminate the bug where you are frozen mid mining animation and forced to restart the game.
- Prevented multiple of the same tutorial prompt appearing consecutively to avoid tutorial spamming.
- Added a tutorial prompt upon picking up the headlamp.
- Fixed a bug where a dropped tool would disappear after loading the game, causing it to be unobtainable.
- Added a fallback to tool spawning to ensure no tools are ever accidentally made unobtainable.
- Changed the rock breaking shader values so that they look more full.
Quite a lot of changes today! Most of these are performance/bug fixes, so your game should run a lot smoother and more bug-free than before. More to come!
