We just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who jumped into our recent Puzzle Mode playtest! Hearing your thoughts has been incredibly helpful for our team as we continue to work on Palettopia.
Our goal is to make Palettopia a cozy puzzle game that anyone can play—without overly complex systems getting in the way of your artistic expression. Whether you want to unwind with some cozy relaxation in Creative Mode or you're a puzzle enthusiast looking to be fully engaged, we want this game to feel like home for you.
We’ve been carefully reading through all your feedback and are currently hard at work implementing it. Right now, our focus is on Quality of Life improvements, enhancing accessibility, and finding the perfect difficulty balance so that both cozy painters and hardcore puzzle solvers have the perfect experience.

During the playtest, we pushed out a few updates based directly on your feedback. In case you missed it, here is a summary of the improvements we’ve already made:
⚖️ Difficulty Balancing: We’ve rebalanced all 5 difficulty options. Simple (1 Star) is now easier, giving you more paint and turns, while we’ve turned up the challenge between Hard (4 Star) and Survival (5 Star).
🏝️ Completed Puzzle Visibility & Exploration: When the Puzzle Complete screen is active, the camera now automatically centers and zooms in to give you a great view of your completed island. We also added a Camera Button so you can freely explore your map before moving on.
❓ Revamped Help Panel: We’ve updated the Help Panel with an in-depth overview of Puzzle Mode and the game rules. It now covers Required Districts, Limited Paint resources, the Marine District Passthrough, Terrain Synergy, and Score.
🧩 Puzzle Menu Rules: The game rules overview and tips in the Puzzle Load Menu have been updated to better explain game mechanics and difficulty rankings.
🛠️ New Tooltips: Added helpful new tooltips to the score bar and the Puzzle Complete Screen.
🗺️ Map Replay: Now if you lose a puzzle, you can instantly replay the exact same island.
