We’re excited to say that the Puzzle Mode Playtest is now open! Starting today, August 20th through August 31st, you’ll be able to try out Palettopia’s puzzles, check out the Arctic and Arid biomes and play with the new Marine District.
🧩 Puzzle Your Way to Paradise: Strategically place districts and manage limited paint resources to fulfill unique island needs. Play at your own pace as you harmonize with the terrain to boost your score and solve the island’s unique puzzle.
⚖️ Scalable Challenge: Tailor your puzzle by adjusting map sizes and difficulty or randomly generate an island for a mystery challenge.
🏜️ Two New Biomes: Explore two of our four biomes. Uncover a frozen land with soaring peaks and swirling snowflakes in the Arctic Biome or adventure into a sandy desert with vivid mesas and dreamy oases in the Arid Biome.
⛵ The Marine District: A brand new district is here! Connect your districts across rivers, lakes and even oceans. The Marine District is a water exclusive district to help bridge the gaps across far flung places.
This playtest is just a small slice of what we have planned for Palettopia, but we absolutely cannot wait to see what kind of puzzles you solve and utopias you build!
The playtest will be open from 8/20/26 to 8/27/26 11:59PM Eastern Time. As a reminder, this is a playtest and will just grant temporary access to the game for us to gather feedback. You can look forward to a demo coming soon.
