Step into Palettopia's Puzzle Mode, where you strategically place districts and manage limited paint resources to fulfill unique island needs. Play at your own pace as you harmonize with the terrain to boost your score, or easily restore nature to recover from a mistake. With scalable map sizes, adjustable difficulties, and randomly generated canvases, every puzzle offers a fresh challenge.
Here is what you can expect when you jump into Puzzle Mode:
Solve the Puzzle - Discover the unique requirements of each island puzzle by placing required districts in specific locations.
Fulfill District Needs - Complete your city by connecting districts to satisfy the need requirements of each district.
Create Terrain Synergy - Forge harmony with the land and increase your score by placing districts in their optimal environments.
Paint to Expand - Connect districts to unlock limited paint resources and grow your city.
Scalable Challenge - Tailor your puzzle by adjusting map sizes and difficulty or randomly generate an island for a mystery challenge.
Tactical Recycling - Made a mistake? Restore nature for a partial resource refund.
Play at Your Pace - Fulfill the island's requirements within a turn limit, without the stress of timers. Strategically think through your placement to increase your score.
We are thrilled to announce a vital new addition to your city-building toolset: the Marine District!
Painted in an aquatic aquamarine, the purpose of the Marine District is to connect your districts across rivers, lakes and even oceans. The new Marine District is here to beautifully bridge those gaps across far flung districts.
Here are the details on how this brand-new feature works:
Water-Exclusive: This is the only district that can be painted on water, and it can only be painted on water.
Strategic Choice: Harness your waterways. Leverage rivers to become maritime corridors, skip across lakes or encircle your oceans. The choice is yours.
Need a Bridge? The Marine District connects the need requirements of all adjacent districts across bodies of water. For example, if you have a Residential district on one side of a lake that needs a Commerce district on the other side. Placing a Marine District in-between them perfectly satisfies the needs!
Seaside Synergies Complete the Marine Districts needs of Commerce and Agriculture to earn the biggest bounty.
Nautical Charm: Expect to see iconic marine and oceanic designs populating your waters, including docks, piers, sailboats, buoys, freight ships, lighthouses, and more.
The best part? You can try out Puzzle Mode & the Marine District starting tomorrow! This playtest will provide temporary access exclusively to Puzzle Mode from August 20th, 2026 to August 31st, 2026. After that, we will close access so we can sort through your valuable feedback and continue building Palettopia.
